Welcome back.
Jackie had been cautious at work all week. She avoided Loki and Bucky at all cost, mostly staying in the laundry room. Jackie had taken extra precautions when it came to sleeping. Jackie wasn't sure what was going on with her. She felt weird and like there was a weight on her chest.
"Is this where you've been hiding?" Jackie jumped utterly caught off guard by Loki entering the laundry room alone.
"Fuck!" Jackie exclaimed, grabbing her chest as she faced him. Her heart was a mess. And adrenaline pumped through her veins.
"I'm sorry, darling. That wasn't my intention. Are you alright?" He asked, walking closer.
"No! I am not alright! What do you want? Why were you looking for me? Don't you usually come with your partner in crime?" Jackie was half fuming half, scared.
"Bucky is on a mission with Rodgers, and Thor. Have been for the last three days," Loki said
"Oh, I didn't know that." Jackie's tone dropped
"I was worried I scared you off. You intrigue me. That's why I've been looking for you." Loki said
"I intrigue you? You've got to be kidding me."
"Not in the slightest. Come on, let's talk; I want to know more about you." Loki said he pulled a chair out and sat down. Jackie grabbed a towel from the clean hamper and started folding it.
"I'm not very interesting," Jackie said
"Come on, throw me a bone," Loki said with a smile
'Who can say no to a smile like that?' Jackie thought
"Fine. I don't know what to say. I was an unexpected surprise to my family. They were old school. I felt like there was a distance between us, especially with my older brother. When I was 18, I left home started being a stewardess on charter boats. I did that on and off while going to school. I made pretty good money; I stopped because my sleeping got out of hand. I was also taking too many stimulates to keep me awake. It wasn't good. My doctor said it was narcolepsy and prescribed me some medication. Then I found this job." Jackie said, not stopping her folding
"What about school?" Loki asked Jackie was surprised he was paying attention
"Dropped it. Not like it was going to work out anyway." Jackie said
"What were you studying?"
"Psychology, mostly dreams and how they affect people." Jackie took a deep breath. She had regretted quitting school. But things had become worse, and she couldn't handle the stress.
"What are your thoughts on dreams?" Loki asked Jackie didn't know if she wanted to answer
"They show you your deepest fears and desires. Whether you want them or not. They always have meaning." Jackie said, finishing the last towel.
"Do you like dreams?"
"I don't dream." Jackie attempted to maintain a straight face. Then she remembered mentioning them when they ate dinner.
"You know you're a terrible liar, although I can't imagine why you would lie about dreams," Loki said, looking Jackie deep in the eyes
"It's personal. That's all." Jackie said, blinking. She was unsure why she didn't want to lie to him.
"I don't mean to make you uncomfortable. Listen, Bucky and company are coming back tomorrow, and we are going to have a party. Would you come?" Loki asked Jackie was caught off guard
"A party? Why would you want me to come?" She asked
"I won't dance around it. Bucky and I think you're beautiful. We admire you and would like to know you more. We want you to come to have fun and likely bed you." Jackie was amazed by Loki's honesty. She thought about it for a second and took a deep breath.
