"Sir, are you sure you want to do this? I have had a look at the system and there is a slight error-"
"Yes yes, I am sure of this! I have been waiting for this my whole life!"
"Uh-"
"Well, not exactly my whole life, but a majority of it! I have been waiting on for SO LONG, to start my OWN COMMUNITY!"
"Sir, one more mistake and you might never return again, remember what happened last time.."
"There is always a next time, Farah. Isn't that just so cliché, coming from you?"
"Ha ha, very funny! We have to go fix this error or your experiment wouldn't work, if you proceed with this it would be too dangerous!"
"Nahhhh, it's only one error, and what could the tiny thing do?" I promise, this would work..This is the one! I KNOW THIS IS THE ONE!"
He took a step towards his machine.
"Sir- WAIT, WRON-"
*****
A flash.
And nothing.
Not yet.
That was what he'd like.
His head was bent to a wrong side, making his neck hurt. Mainly because of the sudden rush of air, boy if this was his first time on such a difficult journey then he would've gotten a heart attack mid-air.
He wasn't sure whether this was "mid-air" or not, but speaking of this : The direction of the wind really told him something! He was actually going somewhere..
DOWNWARDS
He fell, and fell, and kept on falling, seeing no ground nor any surface. He who had started his journey, a journey to find what he truly belongs to. So there he came, crashing down the way.
And right there he landed, the fast winds had completely messed up his blue hair, the dirt made his colour look slightly duller, too.
He got up with a growl, holding his arm and nursing the damage from the rough landing. Looking up from the pile of rocks he had so coincidentally fell into, he took in his surroundings. It was a lot more different from home, everything was..so unattended, like no one had been here, ever. Just him.
Perhaps he had failed? Maybe this is his liminal space, it seems like a place he would love to stay in when he is disturbed, but also a place he would choose to stay out of when he is calm. If this is really his head, can he escape it?
At this thought he immediately got up on his feet to look for a way out. Gosh dang it he should've listened to his assistant; He should've payed mind to that error. But he was always so impatient wasn't he?
But then, something didn't blend in with the abandoned-looking place, and it caught his eyes almost immediately : a metal stand, and a red button sat atop, waiting to be pressed.
And he had every right to do so.
"Cool button!.." He called out to no one in particular, and the loneliness of the place made him hope for a reply.
"..whoever is listening, I'm about to press.. your button!" He called out for a reply but to no avail, only disappointing himself. Guess he'll just press it-
