Hudson Howe POV
When we pulled in to the parking lot of the Edmonton practice facility, I never wanted to go in. Some might say I am a brat for not wanting to go to a new team, or that the only reason I got into the NHL is because of my dad (Marty Howe) or my grandpa (Gordie Howe). But that's completely untrue. I am shy to say the least, I like things to be familiar. In other words, I despise change. There is only a few reasons why I agreed to play here besides my family members forcing me, my passion for hockey and my best friend Bo. Other than that it was truly an honor for me to get the chance to play in the NHL.
"Hud, we gotta go," Bo said to me.
"Bo we are an hour and a half early," I replied back. Leave it to Beauregard Chelios to be unreasonably early. Bo had the same kind of attitude as his father (Chris Chelios) did. Always wanting to come early and stay late.
"Don't be nervous, we don't even play hockey today." Bo said. But that was the problem, the ice felt like my sanctuary but outside of that nothing was. Growing up I didn't have many friends in school besides my hockey ones. I didn't know anyone on this team besides the one sitting next to me. We had played for the highest rec team in our area, the hornets. We didn't know a lot of people beyond our small town. Bo wasn't nervous, because he wasn't afraid to socialize with anyone, and I mean anyone. He made friends with everyone in a matter of seconds. His phone was overflowing with numbers of people he met on the streets and on the subway. I was just a tagalong. It didn't really bother me. But today we had an even playing field because we both knew no one. But deep down I had that feeling that I wouldn't be nervous for long.Bo Chelios POV
If I said that I was completely relaxed at that moment, I'd be fibbing. I didn't want to admit I was nervous to Hudson because I knew he was nervous enough and I did not want him to worry about me. This is it, this could possibly be the team that could break the Stanley Cup slump that Edmonton had been having. Today was just meeting the teams but it was the most crucial part. We had to gel together, there was no other options, no training camps to pick and chose the right fit. I just hoped that Bo and I were the youngest ones there, being 16 years old, so we could have some leader to look up to.Jack Eichel POV
Thatcher, Dylan, and I had just pulled up into the parking lot to nervous to be the first ones to enter. We had decided to wait until someone else went in first. All of a sudden, a beat up gray minivan pulled into the parking lot. Thatch let out a chuckle, "no fucking way," he said with his face expression showing disbelief.
"What?" Dylan Larkin asked.
"This is going to be one hell of a team," Thatcher said with a smile on his face. We were confused until we saw who was in the minivan. It was no other than hockey prodigies, Bo Chelios and Hudson Howe.
