Monday, 8:01 am.
Two siblings were seen running through the roads with all the speed they can get. A red-haired boy, who had trouble refraining himself from bumping into people, and his sister who had orange tips on her hair was following his tracks. You could say they were in a hurry, they wouldn't want to be late for the first day of the school year already. The roads were filled with crowded people once the traffic lights stopped, humans going for their office, their jobs, shops, and a lot more. Eventually, they were getting closer than before.
"We have about 30 minutes left!" Nezuko yelled to his brother while looking at the watch at her wrist as she struggles to run. Tanjiro didn't stop his running, he was still faced forward with all his speed. "We'll catch up in time, don't worry!" He yelled back, with a serious face on his face, focused well around his surroundings.
At the time they were at the entrance gate of the school, the blossom trees were present on the grass, giving a bright aroma with the fresh winds as a few blossom petals fall faintly to the ground. There were still a few students that were lurking around that were sitting on the grass, and students that were running as well, perhaps they were afraid they would get late just like the siblings. Furthermore, as they proceed to run on their way inside the school, they reached the hallways that weren't much empty. Students and a few teachers were walking into their classes.
Tanjiro checked the time on a clock that was on a wall in the hallway he was about to pass through. - 8:15 am... We could still catch up. - he said through his thoughts as he sweats by the journey he had on his way. Tanjiro stopped in the middle of two directions. He glanced in each hallway on which side he was going to go to, while Nezuko stopped to breathe properly by all the exhaustion she had. Once Tanjiro realized he was wasting time, he hesitated and chose a random hallway. After seeing Tanjiro continue running, Nezuko whines since her energy was draining out before catching up. A few minutes have passed and they weren't getting near at all. They passed a lot of hallways but no sign of getting near. Tanjiro kept taking turns, not having any idea where his new classroom is.
"Tanjiro, do you even know the class I'm in!?" Nezuko grumpily asked after recognizing his brother was taking a lot of turns through the hallways. Tanjiro stopped for a second to face back to Nezuko, "What?" Nezuko looked at him confusingly.
"Ah crap, I forgot you're in a different grade!" Tanjiro facepalms himself and grunts as he faced forward and continues running. Nezuko stared at his back dumbfoundedly. "Eh?! Seriously brother?!" She complains as she continues following her brother's tracks. Now, Tanjiro had another problem to deal with, since he forgot his sister was an 8th-grade student while he was a student of 9th-grade. Tanjiro decided to go to the 9th-grade classes hallway, to find his sister's class first. "Uh, it's already 8:24 am!" Nezuko informed with an audible voice. Tanjiro ignored it and concentrated on finding the hallway of the 9th-graders.
He stopped in the middle of two hallways again, but luckily, there was a sign on the ceiling. The right hallway leads to the sections of 9th-grade, both of the siblings saw the sign. Before Tanjiro could even move forward and continue running, Nezuko came first, running at fast speed, ready to run to the sharp turn to the right hallway. "Ah, finally! Now I—"
Clash!
Tanjiro flinched at the sudden noise, he then looked over to what incident happened. He could see his sister lying on the ground while rubbing her head. Before he could approach her sister, he saw a girl sitting ahead of Nezuko that was wearing a butterfly clip on her side ponytail. In summary, it looked like both of them bumped each other on the way. Tanjiro saw the girl hurriedly grab her notebooks and stood up. "Ah, I'm sorry!" She bowed quickly. Before she passed them and went to the hallway the siblings came from, she accidentally bumped into Tanjiro's shoulder. "Sorry!!!" She exclaimed as she glanced at them while running backward.
Tanjiro stared at her in disbelief, "Not even a little help?" He sighed and looked over Nezuko as he walks toward her. "Hey, are you alright?" He asked as he offers her his hand for her to stand up. Nezuko grabbed his hand and stood up, "Yeah thanks..." She mumbled numbly and sluggishly as she holds her head. "Alright let's go!" Tanjiro looked forward and continues moving towards, passing some of the classrooms. "B-brother..?" Nezuko murmured shakingly, making Tanjiro stop and look back. "What is it Nezuko? We need to keep mo–"
Tanjiro widens his eyes in surprise.
Suddenly the scent smelt like a metallic liquid, the scent he recognized a few years ago. His eyes opened up wide, a red liquid was spread all over Nezuko's forehead, and unto Nezuko's hand. Red droplets dripping from her hand as it falls straight to the ground. Her face was expressed with surprise, and her emotions were expressing fear as she looks over to her hand. Blood continued to fall all around her head. Her uniform was getting dirty and wet by the red liquid. Memories flashed to his mind, his senses were unclear and confused. Out of the blue, she fell, clashing her body towards the cold ground as blood continued to spread all over the floor. He wasn't able to do anything. All he did was witness her sister fall straight to the ground as blood continues to spread all over her clothes and to the floor.
He was frightened.
