Whenever Isabelle had the time, she would watch the news. She was always curious about what the Avengers were up to, and being close to four of them made her even more so, especially when they told her they'd be going away for a few days for a mission.

Isabelle wasn't worried about it as much, knowing they always handled their missions well and quick. But then two weeks passed and there was no response from the four. She didn't think of it as much at the start, but then all the Avengers had also gone strangely silent.

That made her worry and concerned.

And then one night, when Isabelle was typing away on her computer, attempting to finish her report on time as she sat on her couch, looking like the definition of exhausted, the news playing in the background caught her attention, turning the volume up of her TV.

Horror was plastered across Isabelle's face as her widened hazel eyes were glued to the screen, watching the footage that was being played, showing the new Avengers facility being blown apart into debris with smoke covering most of the footage.

Isabelle's hand hurriedly shot towards her phone, trying to call and even text the group chat to get a response from Yelena, Kate, Peter or Kamala but it was useless. The dark-haired female was on the verge of panicking, moving around her apartment anxiously, but she knew couldn't do anything except to wait.

Almost an hour later of much more panicking, Isabelle was snapped out of her thoughts by the knock on her door. She furrowed her eyebrows, not expecting anyone this late at night, walking towards the door and unlocking it to see the person who decided to visit her at this time.

"Oh my god," she gasped.

A surprised expression instantly formed on Isabelle's face as she stared at a dishevelled Kate and Peter, the archer carrying Yelena in her arms who was unconscious and Peter carrying Kamala and another girl who both were unconscious. They all were covered in scratches and smoke debris, and caked in dirt.

Kate and Peter both stared at her sheepishly, casting a worried glance at the heroes in their arms before turning their attention back at Isabelle who understood, gesturing them inside immediately and leading them to her room.

Peter and Kate placed Kamala and Yelena on Isabelle's bed, and the other girl, who Isabelle soon recognised as America on the couch in her room. Kate turned to Isabelle only to be engulfed in a tight hug by her, overwhelming relief flooding through her body. Kate found herself leaning into her embrace, a wave of calmness washing over her.

"I was so worried about you guys, and neither of you replied to any of my texts for weeks, and then the news of the avengers facility exploding was everywhere and then-"

"Hey, hey." Kate cut her off, grabbing her hand in reassurance. "It's okay, alright? We're all okay. Yelena, Kamala and America just passed out from exhaustion. Everything's fine-"

"It's not okay though!" Isabelle snapped, tears forming in her eyes. "You could've died! I could've lost you, all of you!"

She slumped at the side of the bed in exhaustion, taking a shuddering deep breath as she ran a hand through her hair. Peter and Kate's heart twinged at how worried Isabelle was about them and the archer embraced her.

"I'm sorry," Peter swallowed. "We didn't mean to worry you this much."

"Please don't ever do that again," Isabelle sobbed in Kate's chest.

Kate hugged her tighter. "We promise."

"You guys better mean it this time," Isabelle grumbled. "I can't always have you guys rock up here in the middle of the night, all beat up and have to patch you up. I'm honestly going to start charging you."

The two let out a hearty laugh while Isabelle stared at them impassively. "I wasn't kidding."

"What exactly happened, Kate, Pete?"

Peter and Kate's expression turned serious, a look that was pretty rare on the two.

"We were assigned to check out an underground base run by a secret service determined to eradicate all superhuman beings, which for SHIELD was deemed a significant threat. When we got there, they were expecting us and had already planted explosives all around the facility," Peter explained.

"We got in contact with the rest at the facility just in time for them to escape safely before they were detonated. But they all are after us. The facility attack was just a warning. We all have gone under hiding. And the first place I could think of was here ..." Kate trailed off before sighing. "And now we've probably put you in danger too."

"No, no. I don't mind at all, you're always welcome to stay here anytime." Isabelle squeezed both Kate's and Peter's hand in reassurance. "Why don't you guys take a shower and get changed into more comfortable clothes? I'll take care of them."

They both had a grateful expression on their faces. "Thank you so much."

"Anytime."
