Over the next few days you have been helping Nat coordinate the Avengers as to where they should go and where people need them the most to keep the peace. You have also cleaned up the whole office space and organized it all. You were also able to find that same folder with the red symbol. You opened it and red everything. An organization called Hydra started back in the 1940's who experimented on people and wanted the Avengers dead. It's also the group who kidnapped Bucky and made him the winter soldier. No wonder he has trust issues.
-2 weeks after Steve left-
You've also grown to tolerate Bucky who's been around the compound more and trains with you every morning. During the morning runs you talk a lot more about anything and come to realize that he's actually a nice person.
"You know... you have this bad boy thing going on but it's not working with me." You say as you slow down from a run to a walk.
"What?" Bucky says laughing as he walks with you.
"You have this wall built up to protect yourself. But I can see it's starting to come down." You reply.
"And you have a wall too. It's not the same as mine but I see it." Bucky says looking at you and stops in his tracks. "You shut down. You close yourself off completely and hide inside your own world. I've seen you do it around Steve even." He continues and as a genuine look of sadness for you in his eyes.
"Steve doesn't understand what happened to me. He can't even imagine it." You say and regret it the second it come out of your mouth. You look down at the ground avoiding Bucky's stare and pull your arms into your chest.
"See, you are doing it right now." Bucky says and you still don't look up at him. "You don't have to do that. Not around me. Not around Steve or even Natasha. Trust me, we've all been through our own hell." Bucky says and places his hands on your shoulder. You look up at him with tears starting to form in your eyes. "If you ever want to talk. Let me know. I'm sure Steve already told you about my past." He says still holding onto your shoulders. You shrug and slightly nod. Bucky does something unexpected and pulls you in for a hug. You have realized that you didn't actually hug anyone since Steve left. This takes you by surprise and press your head into Bucky's chest as you take in the sense of protection. You can't hug Bucky back since your arms are pinned between your chest and his. But Bucky still doesn't let go for a minute until your phone rings.  Bucky  let's go of you and you answer the call.
"Hey Steve, how's it going?" You ask and turn around facing away from Bucky and wipe your eyes.
"Good, we are actually coming back today so we will be there in a few hours." Steve says over the phone.
"Really? You say excitingly.
"Yea. I'm sorry I left for 2 weeks. I know how you feel around new people." Steve says with shame in his voice.
"It's okay. Everyone's been really nice and helpful. I've been helping Natasha in the office and Bucky's been training with me in the mornings." You say and turn around to see that Bucky has continued the run and is not in your view anymore.
"That's good. I'm glad your feeling happy. I got to go. We are heading on the jet now. See you soon."
"Bye." You say and hang up.
"Bucky?!" You yell trying to find him but he's nowhere in sight and you jog back to the compound.
