Ch 4

Taking a deep breath I check my phone and see that the movie should be over any minute now.

I came to wait in the lobby after thirty minutes of awkwardness inside the theater had a niggas anxiety through the roof

Phoenix and Jayden weren't the problem they were in their own world and Evie was practically living within the movie but those other niggas, boy let me tell you. Star was busy flirting with Garrett and Dion, who was loving every minute of it, but that was only a ploy so no one could peep she was straight up tormenting Loren who in turn was trying to ignore Star and being all cuddled up with Marcus but still staring down Garrett on the sly and he was eying her right back. Meanwhile Evie is Unconscious and snoring, Marcus was eyeing me down and making gestures to sneak off together. When I left the theater I had to straight up text him not to follow me out here and I've been out here ever since.

I check my phone again and see only a minute has passed and that I'm on 40% due to my dumbass being out here watching YouTube videos.

People start exiting the theater causing me to look up. Some exit with excitement, talking about the film while some exit complaining about how "woke" the movie was trying to be

Seemingly coming out last Star is the first to exit followed by Jayden who's holding hands with Phoenix. Soon after Evie, Garrett and Dion exit walking just a little bit ahead of Marcus and Loren

"Where did yo ugly ass run off to?" Star asks me with a raised brow when she gets closer

Evie smiles at me "you missed a good movie"

Standing up and stretching I tell them the lie I so cleverly crafted when I realized I wasn't going back in the theater "my mom called so I was busy checking in on her and just decided to stay out here to clear my mind"

"Oh" she just shrugs walking past me to the exit

"Is she okay?" Phoenix asks as we all walk towards the exit together

"Uhh...yea...yea she's okay but you know how she gets" I say stumbling over my words a little. But dammit I didn't expect them to ask more questions

Phoenix and Jayden walk past me holding hands "that's good to hear" he says looking back at me while Nix smiles and looks at me "was she gushing over her baby boy again?"

"I swear Yo mama be acting like you her only child" Star says slowing down to walk next to me

I look at Phoenix with a disgusted face and make eye contact with Evie who has the same face "girl never say 'gushing over her baby boy' again"

She starts laughing like the crackhead she is and soon Jayden joins in too "ain't shit funny, that was nasty"

"As for you" I turn to Star who tried to chuckle like shit funny "my mama does not be calling me that much"

This hoe then dramatically stops in the middle of the parking lot looking at me. Eyes bugged out, looking like raven whenever she has a vision "why you out here lying??"

"Ain't nobody lying but y'all"

"So you saying she didn't call me 18 times when you ain't answer yo phone last year?" She eyes me down

"Damn 18 times?" Dion replies walking closer to us flanked by an unusually quiet Garrett

"She lying" I try to assure him

"Bitch" she starts walking again mugging me "I was out her getting my lace pulled and back blown out and yo mama was hitting my line like a psycho damn near had the nigga that was rocking my shit paranoid, thinking I had a man"
