Most people relish in the idea of their final months of High School, the time of life they get to move on from and onto a greater purpose. There had to be more to life than what you did during your education, if not then it seemed pointless. At times like this, is when people begin to anticipate what the future holds for them.
Except for the few individuals who were too occupied with other bothersome thoughts. The minority of seniors who had to worry about the present before they could even consider glancing too ahead at their calendar.

Julia stared calmly at the building in front of her despite the anxiousness she is feeling — before treading inside lightly.
She glanced at the students surrounding her, and could already differentiate from the types of friend groups there were based on the observations she made.
There were the loud, and obnoxious ones, always making themselves known in the hallways by how arrogant they were.
It was irritating to say the least, past teachers never fully grasped on why the girl had a disliking to some of these people. They acted as if the world revolved around them, and she could not reinforce the facade that everyone else played, that Julia was completely fine with their behavior.
The quiet entourage that always centers around the most sociable person among all of them.
From an outsider's perspective, you would think those girls were following as a way of treating a Queen. But deep down, there was an underlying bond of trust and loyalty that could not always be physically shown.
Additionally there were the more unique and prominent groups of people, some were alone, and others consisted of contrasting personalties. Reading these people were second nature to her, although she had no superpowers — the teenager considered herself gifted when determining a person's personality and thoughts. Even the colder and more serious ones were not impervious, and she often found herself having meaningful conversations with them if there were opportunities for communication.
Julia knew that there were more to people then what meets the eyes. Anything visual seen can never capture the entirety of one's soul or the workings of the inner-mind. She was fascinated by this level of thinking, which could also be why she was so considered good at reading people through their body language and facial expressions.
It was not moreso what she sees, but what was felt through their actions. Looking beyond their exterior was a trick she was self-taught a long time ago. If Julia was not confident in her own observations, she would not cross boundaries or be overly curious.
But there was an unnamed individual she could never even beyond what was shown to her. That person was able to figure out how to block her out, similarly to how she did the same to him...
No Julia...Don't even think about that guy. Focus on the goals...the objectives.
She definitely was not going to slip up, or get distracted this year. It was something she could not allow after everything she went through.
First day of her senior year, and ten months left before she headed to University.
Julia managed to find where she needed to go despite her pre-occupied mind. Once getting her schedule, she scanned it quickly to see the classes for the first and second semester.

Free PeriodShe let out a breath of relief and managed to smile to herself for the first time today.
It was not the easiest schedule, but it looked manageable.
Scanning the hallways, the younger students were scrambling to find their homerooms, while the junior & seniors knew exactly where to go.
It was nostalgic seeing the first years, because before Julia recalled being in the same position as them.
The transition from elementary to secondary school was not easy, but now she found herself in a more comfortable position with her studies.
The objective this year was to get ideal grades for university acceptance. Hopefully, she could do well — her inconsistency and lack of motivation have caused her grades to slip in the past. It became overwhelming for her but she had to push past that feeling.
Julia had to do everything in her power to stay concentrated. Every senior in this entire country would be her competition in the schools she was applying for. That isn't even including the international students.
For the past three years, she has managed to get by without the necessary dramatics with most teenagers these days. Being an introvert, you wouldn't typically be involved in conflict too much since there wouldn't be a lot of friends they had to begin with.
Julia feels a vibration from her jacket pocket, and reaching for the object inside of it — she smiles to herself seeing that her best friend is calling her.
"Hey Natalie." Despite not being able to see each other. Julia could imagine the same aged girl to be walking to the school right now since she lives a bit farther away.
"Jia! Did you get your schedule yet?" The eagerness and anticipation in her tone was evident. Julia could immediately understand the feeling.
"Yep. I got it this morning and I'm heading to my first class right now.
The high school student continued the phone call until she was forced to end it after almost making it to her classroom.
Going up the stairwell towards the second floor, she arrives into Ms. Hera's English class in room 201 and sits herself down into the back.
She wouldn't get distracted this year.
Julia was certain she had nothing that would cause her to become unfocused.
Although fate had other plans.
