A Web's Embrace

Training Day (2)

(note that this is fiction, any action that Shoji does, may or may not have happened in the manga/anime)

Time seemed to slow down when I was...falling to my death, the rain started to pour as Y/N peeked out from the bars, I can't tell her expression but...I just closed my eyes since they're becoming heavy. How can I be a hero if I can't even be at par with someone who's...almost like me...

"Open your arms baka! (idiot!)" Y/N yelled out but her voice seemed to be near me, when I opened my eyes, I was shock to see that she's in front of me...clinging on my arm with a huge smile on her face. She's falling with me!? How crazy is this person!!??

"I said...open your arms!" I'm still captivated on how she seems to be having fun when we're literally falling from 300ft, she grunts in annoyance, "Earth to Shoji!" with her 4 hands still intact, she turns me around...so my face is heading towards the ground. She then grabs 2 sets of my arms and opens them wide and makes them stiffen a bit, our descent to the ground seemed to have slowed down, I turned my head to look at her. One of her arms that can shoot out webs was moving around her body, "Hey Shoji!" she yelled through the air, "Yeah?" I replied.

"Want to learn how to fly?"
"Fly...what!?"
"See that building with a helipad on top?" she then points out which made me find the building easily, "Meet you over there!"
"What! How!? I'm not a bird!" Tokoyami and Hawks popped in my head on how easy it is easy for them to fly.
"You sure?" she grins and lets go of my arms then jumps off of me, in a split second she opens her arms which had spider webs between them...now she's....gliding in the air. "See you there Shoji!" she angled herself a bit that made her go to the building faster.

I was falling faster to the ground again because I didn't open my arms like she did to me. I tried opening them again and it worked, "Flying..." I wondered, I tried to flap my 'wings' but it didn't work, I just 'fell' faster again. "We're just gliding..." I whispered to myself. I opened my arms and stiffen them, the same way Y/N did to me earlier, and copied her 'angle' to make me ascend a bit in the air. I see her bob her head downward, looking at me from under her, she just smiles and went back to 'flying'. I was enjoying the scenic view from above...so this is what Tokoyami sees every time he does this.

After awhile, I noticed that I wasn't the same level as Y/N anymore, she was about to land on the edge of the building when I'm about to collide the building's glass windows. "Shit!" I closed my arms and wrapped it around myself, bracing for impact...but it didn't came...

I peeked out my arms and saw that I was dangling in the air, I can't tell if there are people working in this level because the window is tinted, but I'm imagining that they're shock that something almost hit them. I looked up to see that Y/N was doing her best to pull me up, it was taking awhile, so I did my best by 'climbing' on the building to lessen my weight she's carrying. As soon as I reached the edge, I grabbed hold of the railing and pulled myself up, Y/N then sits down and spreads herself on the helipad area. I can tell that she got tired from carrying me, "Hooo....you're heavier than I thought" she lifts her head, "My bad" then smiles at me. She then sits up and motions me to sit beside her, and so I did.

There was silence between us for awhile, we're just trying to catch our breath when..., "Any questions you have?, I promise I'll answer the best I can" she said as she raises her hand like what boy scouts do.

"Okay...how'd you know I can regenerate? I mean...you don't just randomly chop off student's arms like that"
"Hawks gave me a copy of your profile, actually I...didn't expect that they can regenerate that quick every time I cut them off"
"Why did my arms turned gray earlier?"
"I injected it with poison"
"What?" I asked again, to check if I heard correct, "I injected it with poison" she repeated like injecting someone with poison is something casual.
"You were going to kill me???"
"No, no, it just paralyses you for...a few hours"
"Hours!!??"
"Calm down, it's the reason why I chopped it off back at the Tokyo Tower" she's so calm when explaining this to me, as if it doesn't bother her.
"How'd you know we can reach this building from there?" I pointed the Tower, "I can't even fly, again I'm not a bird"
"You didn't listen in your science or physics class didn't you?"
"...No" I shyly answered
"We used the force of wind that was hitting the buildings...which then goes up..." she continued to explain it through scientific analysis and such. After that, she smiled and just waits for me to ask another question...I know I have one question in mine that I'm very curious about. I gulped in terror, scared on how she would react but...I need to know, I mean...I'm scared for my safety with this woman.

"How...(coughs)"
"Yes?"
"How...crazy...are you?" her eyes widened from the question, at first I thought she would rant on how she's sane and such but, she just chuckled at the question. "I'm not crazy, like a madman" she answered, "I'm...more of a daredevil actually. I live the day...more like everyday as if it's my last"

After I got no more questions to asked and seem to be processing this information that I got, she chuckles then stands up. She dusted her pants, cleans her hands by rolling on a web she just made, then pats my head, "There, there...let's have a snack break first before we resume" I checked my watch and it was exactly 9 o'clock am, "C'mon" she tugs on one of my arms, trying to pull me up, "I'm hungry, I haven't had breakfast and there's a good breakfast restaurant in this area"

"How do we go down here? That door seemed to be shut" I pointed to the door that (probably) leads inside the building that seemed to have no door knob on the outside or in this case, on our side. 

"Easy!" she shouts with a smile then gives a roundhouse kick at my chest which send me off the building and...fall again.

I shouldn't have asked.
