After telling Braxton about the shady guy, he confirmed that it was the man he was worried about. Unfortunately for me, this meant extra training.
The first week, we only studied magic three times a week for two hours. Now we were up to five days a week for 3 and a half hours. We also got wands! I figured out that you don't have to use wands for everything and can sometimes just use your hand as well. I found out that you didn't even need to say words for spells either, you just have to think hard enough.
Trying to keep up with school work as well as magic work was becoming very stressful. It's 6 am on a Thursday and thank god I'm still sleeping. I hardly get the chance to sleep lately. Soon my amazing slumber was ruined and my alarm clock rang.
Lazily I reached my arm out of my blanket and swiped dismiss on my phone.
I stretched and stared at the ceiling for a moment before throwing my blanket off me. I swung my feet out of bed and walked over to the window. It looks like someone is moving in next door. I watched for a couple minutes until I saw the door in the room across from mine open. I ducked behind the wall so they wouldn't see me.
I peeked through the window and saw a guy, around my age. He looked quite tall and was very well built. He had black thick glasses on, which I think made him look pretty cute. His glasses also matched his shoulder length curly black hair.
"Victoria! Are you ready? I need a ride" Ashton stated from down the hall. "Tori, we have new neighbors. I want us to take them this plate of cookies before you go to school" Braxton called out right after. I groaned, rolling my eyes. I went and got dressed for the day.
After I had finished getting ready, I met my brothers in the living room. "Let's hurry, I need to get to school" I grumbled as I picked my keys off the key ring holder. Braxton rolled his eyes and we walked out of the house with the plate of chocolate chip cookies.
We walked across both yards and knocked on their front door. After a few moments, an older woman with black and gray hair answered the door. She smiled sweetly at us "Hello, may I help you?"
"We just wanted to welcome your family to the neighborhood. We live next door, the Wood family. I'm Braxton, and this is Ashton and Victoria" Braxton smiled back at her. "Nice to meet you I'm Samantha Smith and my son Travis is upstairs getting ready for his first day of school"
"Does he need a ride? My little sister here can drive him"
"Oh no honey, he has a car. I will tell him you guys stopped by and that he should make friends" she smiled. Braxton nodded and passed her the cookies. We all wished it her a good day as we left and walked back to our house.
We walked inside and I ran to grab my bag from my room as well as my phone. I noticed a text from Brooklyn when I picked it up.
-Morning Ria! Just thought I would tell you not to wait up, I need to be at school early. There's a new kid and I volunteered to show them around the school!
I contemplated sending her a text saying that I knew where the new kid lived but decided against it. It would probably sound really stalker ish anyway. Instead I just texted back saying...
-Ill see you at school then!
I slipped my phone into the back pocket of my black ripped skinny jeans. I walked out of the room and closed my door behind me. "Ash, let's go" I hollered as I opened the front door. I walked out to my truck with Ashton right behind me, shoving his face with apple slices. "I really need to get a job, then I can get a car and impress Katyusha" he smiled at me as we got in. "Isn't she the foreign exchange student from Russia" I asked, as I listened to the engine turn over and start.
I smiled, satisfied with the sound. It was a sound that I would never get tired of hearing. "Yes. She's beautiful. Her beautiful long wavey brunette hair and her oval shaped honey colored eyes, the way they sparkle in the sun" he said, completely star struck. "Are wizards even allowed to date non wizards" I asked, realizing that we haven't discussed that in our lessons.
Ashton snapped back to reality. "I'm not sure. But it's also not like we can go along telling people were wizards either. That's like the number one rule"
The two of us sat completely on silence as we thought about wizards and morals as we drove to school. I finally understood why I have never seen Braxton with a girlfriend. Was that why I've never seen him with a girlfriend? What would even happen if a wizard and a mortal fell in love?
