Elettra Beninati. Born on December 4th, 1920, at 8:05 a.m. She was raised in Manchester by both her parents, Giovanni and Vivian, until her eighteenth birthday. She was a bright young girl. Graduating Secondary School at the age of fifteen and graduated from the University of Manchester at the age of nineteen with a doctorate in Psychology and an extensive amount of military knowledge, thanks to her father.
The summer before her twentieth birthday, Elettra packed her belongings and hopped across the pond to the United States where she found herself working under a man named Dr. Abraham Erskine. He was a short old man. Grey-haired, slightly balding man with a dark grey beard and large round golden glasses. He had a thick German accent, but he was kind enough to let Elettra work with him. He had practically plucked her off the streets of Brooklyn two days after she had arrived.
Wary at first, she allowed the kind old man to buy her a cup of joe and talk. After explaining his station in life, Elettra was more than excited to jump at the chance to help win the war. Dr. Erskine graciously led her down the streets of Brooklyn toward his office and showed her the intricate workings of what he did. Elettra was in awe and fascinated by the things she only thought existed in stories.
Dr. Erskine introduced her to a woman named Peggy Carter. Elettra was immediately intimated by the young woman, who couldn't be any older than she was. Peggy stood 1.73 meters (5' 7") to Elettra's 1.58 meters (5'2"), allowing the stern-looking woman to tower over her. Peggy was also well equipped with plump breasts and wide hips, while Elettra was flatter chested and thin. The woman was always well dressed, with a full face of makeup and hair done to the nines. Elettra would do the same but always felt that she lacked in areas where Peggy thrived.
Nonetheless, the two women got along swimmingly. Bonding over their homeland was one of the first things that solidified their friendship, both laughing at the slight differences in their tones and mannerisms. Peggy made it a point to take Elettra under her wing, Dr. Erskine would often find the two sparring in the gym during the late hours of work. Elettra longed to serve in the war like her father. Elettra was quick to pick up on Peggy's style of fighting, often overpowering the larger woman with her stealth-like reflexes.
Elettra worked under Peggy and Dr. Erskine for two years when the doctor came to her with a proposition. Reminding her of the time Mr. Howard Stark was working on a new invention to help with the top-secret formula Erskine was creating, he asked her a very important question.
"You want me... to take the serum? ... but why?" She asked in her thick Mancunian accent.
"Because," Dr. Erskine sighed, "do you remember that incident about six months ago?"
"You mean with Mr. Stark?" She muttered, glancing back at the table where papers were scattered from her dropping them out of shock.
"Yes," Dr. Erskine leaned against the table facing her fully. "You ran back... and not to be a hero, but to save an innocent life. You didn't care if you came out alive... you're pure. Good. And that's exactly what I'm looking for."
Elettra pondered the thought of taking the serum for a moment. She would do anything to help Dr. Erskine, to end this war, to end the bloodbath that was occurring. Her brows knitted together, screwing up her angelic face. A moment later, she looked back at the doctor with water in her eyes.
"Are you sure I can do it?" She whispered, the words just passing through her full pink lips.
"There is no one else I trust more," Dr. Erskine patted her hand gently.
The warmth of his skin calmed her. She had come to love the man like a grandfather. Always trusted, never doubted.
"Who will know?" she asked.
She knew the risks of taking this serum. She knew that there were people still after the doctor and his works. She was prepared to lay down her life if it meant getting one step closer to the solution.
"It will just be you, me, Peggy, and Howard Stark," he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. "You'll be our secret weapon Elettra..."
One thing that should be mentioned before continuing onto our story is... I am Elettra Beninati andthis is my tale to tell...
Author's Note:
Feel free to comment, vote, share, or message me! I really do love hearing back from readers. I'm working on a few things right now and if you want to see anything specific, let me know. I was thinking about making a Sebastian Stan fanfic, based on this character, just as the actress. What do you think?
