"Kai I've always thought you as my real sister" Shou said and i smiled "me too"

Evening? I overslept? That's impossible! What happen to the ritual! An incense. Sis, why?" I thought to myself as i hurriedly dash to the rituals location only to see a bunch of corpses from the clans candidate.

My body tremble as i fall on the ground when i saw my sisters...head on the ground. "No way...why! Why did this happen! Just what on earth happen here granny?!"

I cried out loud and a elder from kyou tribe appear behind me "she was targeted from the beginning. Right from the beginning shou was targeted at the same time by all the candidates."

"That's impossible! How can that happen? It's forbidden for a shiyuu to cooperate with each others!"

"Kai...you and shou are far above the rest of the candidates in terms of ability. Every elders of all tribes are aware of that. That's why they concented to it. Your absence and shou's murder.

"Wait... isn't our law absolute? Was it something so flimsy? Then why did we have to do this?! Why did sis have to die!" I roared and an elders come after one after another.

"What are you doing elder kyou? That girl is a walking corpse. Kill your self! All the defeated must become corpses! That's what has been passed down through the shiyuu clan for thousands of years...Our Law!!!" The unknown elder shouted as i look at her furiously and without second thought i cut her down.

I was panting heavily...my body is trembling. I can't control my breath, im confused...sis died? I look at my surrounding and i found myself at my room.

It's still day and tonight is the ritual. Shiyuu can do certainly anything, so seeing a future is not that impossible. But is it true or not? Will it happen? I won't.. I won't let it happen.

It doesn't matter if it's true or not. I know what to do. I must attend the ritual and win it! I thought as i planned everything that i need to do once the ritual starts.

I stayed awake until night comes. I sense sis nearby as i saw her put the incense. Before she could do it i look at her and she notice me. "Wait kai..this

"What's the meaning of this sis?!" I shouted at her and she told me that she is planning become the shiyuu. Before that she need to put me to sleep to let me live. Once she successfully become the shiyuu then she will bring me to the outside world.

I smiled as she told mw the whole truth. It seems that what i saw on my dream was all true. I can't let it happen. "Shou-nee...i will participate in this ritual!" I said in determination as i also told her about my weird dream.

She look at me with her eyes wide and smiled "i guess there's no easy way out eh? Then let's give our best kai" as we both departed for the ritual.

"Begin" with only one word the ritual started and just like what i saw on my dream. Every last one attack both of us at the same time.

Cooperation in the ritual is forbidden even if it means you belongs to the same clan. Our law is absolute, but what i saw here is the opposite. The elders were just watching while both i and sis are fighting the other candidates.

The battle lasted for over an hour and both i and shou is the only one left. I killed yuu ren for plotting things.

"Kai are you sure about this?" Shou asked me as i smiled. "Yes" our battle begins. Both of us are in deep of our consciousness and were doing our best to fight each others

But only one can be a winner and as expected. That's me, i cut shou down to the ground, but not too deep to kill her. I make sure that i didn't hit her vitals and make sure that my act is believable.

And that day i become the shiyuu of the kyou tribe. Every elders get back to their clans homes. They comes from other mountains and i the new shiyuu has been given the privileged to move and travel to the outside world.

Kyou shou pov

I don't want to die. From what i saw today there is no person there that could pose a real threat. The only person I'd need to worry about is kai. Kai's breath might be short, but it is deep. If it comes on short length battle then even i had no match against her.

I opened my eyes and look at my surrounding only to see a blood bath battlefield. I suddenly came to a realization that this is were the ritual is.

"Wait...i thought i died?" I look at my body on to found an less deep cut downward to my lungs near my heart. "Did she do this on purpose?" I asked myself as i stand up and decided to find her.

I can't go back to the tribe anymore. All who got defeated shall become a corpses so even if i did come back there, i will only be forced to kill myself.

I want to find kai...i want answers.

Did she mean to kill me? Did she purposely left me alive? Why? Why?

After running for a long time away from the ritual mountain sneakily to avoid getting notice. I saw kai standing by the river where we both talk about our future.

Flashback

"I don't want to die at age of fifteenth. There's a lot of things i wanted to do. Visiting the Kingdoms on the plains, knowing their people, having a child and knowing the warmth of a man." I said to kai who's blushing and i just smirk.

Flashback end

I slowly approached her and she look at me and hug me. "I'm glad your alive" is what she said before telling me that she already planned this. For both of us to experience the life in the plains.
