Bertholdt: dad?

Barrell: hey son

Bertholdt: have you ever done anything, unforgivable?

Barrell: ...i wont lie to you son, i have

Bertholdt: why?

Barrell: Bertholdt, first you have to ask to ask yourself, why are you doing unforgivable things, for yourself? For others? Friendship? Respect? Because you can? I remember what I've done everyday, i regret everything I've done up until you and your mother

Bertholdt: us?

Barrell: thats right, after you two i had no more doubts, everything i did i made sure it benefited you or your mother or you both, to protect you two

Bertholdt: so you were happy to do unforgivable things?

Barrell: no son i wasnt happy doing them, i was hurting people, but i knew if i hurt people i would help you and your mother and thats all i needed to keep going, so dont ask me why Bertholdt, ask me if I'd do it again

Bertholdt: would you?

Present

* Bertholdt runs as fast as he can manage with his gear on his back, chasing, trying to keep up with her, she's always been quick, it always amazes him the things she can do*

Bertholdt: annie! Wait! I just want to talk!

Annie: leave me alone!

* he fires a warning shot to stop her but she doesn't stop, if anything she runs faster and he cant help but to admire her*

Bertholdt: annie just wait! What are you doing here!...annie!..."she's not slowing down, then ill have to slow her down"

*Bertholdt takes out a flash grenade and throws it as hard as he can between him and annie over their heads, he runs full speed towards her as it goes off, she's temporarily stunned and he tackles her to the ground*

Bertholdt: annie stop just talk to me please

Annie: who the hell are you!? What do you want?

Bertholdt: ...a-annie?

* this shocks Bertholdt that he almost lets her go, as she continues to struggle he grabs her wrists pinning them to the ground*

Bertholdt: annie?

Annie: let go of me, ill kill you

Bertholdt: i hope you dont mean that, annie-

Annie: stop calling me that, thats not my name and i dont know you so get off me already

Bertholdt: ...annie look at me, you dont know me?

Annie: should i?

Bertholdt: ...what happened to you?

Annie: !damn you

*Bertholdt looks at her for a moment then hugs her, he doesn't know what she's doing but he doesn't care, he's just happy to see her, but she doesn't seem so happy, shocked he envelops her in a hug she bites his neck forcing him to jump off of her, she quickly kicks him away and runs*

Bertholdt: ...annie, annie!
