Stephanie's POV
I sat there on the bed weeping to myself deeply. Everyone at the moment was out the house. Aurora and the girls were at school, while Paul took the pets to the vet. Not sure if I mentioned this, but aside from Paul in the girls, we have 2 dogs (2 Mastiffs to be exact) and my cat Lucky. She's a little tortoiseshell kitty. She's majority black with a little bit of gold here and there. I adopted her a year ago as my own. She's stays around me more than everyone else and tries to pick fights with the other pets. As I continued to cry, I stared at myself in the mirror for the longest. I couldn't understand why something like this happened. I mean, its one thing hearing about it happening to other people, but its another thing because you don't prepare for something like this to happen to you. Its been a little over a month since the incident happened. I try not to talk about it. Just yesterday, I had to do a Zoom meeting with The Female Quotient. I was so nervous that I actually cried a little during the meeting, but I don't believe that no one noticed.
Then I had to talk to my father about a potential problem. Of course, it's concerning the women. Then I got the same result again. This has been an issue since I had started to write some of the scripts since 2003, around the same time that I got married. Vince would give me different results if it had concerned a different matter, but for some reason, whenever I would talk to him about the women, I would get this response:
"Steph, you know that I care about all of the talent and employees in the WWE, but I don't feel that actual women story line's are needed as much as the men's. They are just needed for show."
And then as the years have went by, his response has changed, but not by a whole lot.
"Stephanie, aren't the 4 Horsewomen enough for the fans? You throw the fans Sasha Banks and Bayley, they go wild. Maybe you need to stick to the brand and not worry and not worry about the show."
"But Vince, this brand can't be possible without the shows. What happened to giving the fans what they want?"
"We can't give every fan what they want just because they throw a tantrum whenever their favorite superstar isn't out there. I mean, you have to think about what the actual show. Remember what I told you when you first started to work here?"
End Of POV
Stephanie then sighed. "Of course. The ratings matter."
"So then, why would I go to certain lengths for the women? The men are enough to satisfy the network's ratings and supervisors. We just threw the women out there so that at least some of the fans will shut up."
Stephanie then looked down at her father and left her office. Ever since she could remember, he has always looked down at her ideas. He never payed any attention to her great ideas unless it involved the 4 Horsewomen. She finally reached her office, which by their request, had purposely placed beside Paul's office. Although he hasn't been there in almost a month, Stephanie always told the janitor to clean his office to keep the cobwebs out. She quickly went into her office and closed her door and locked it quickly. Ever since that incident, Stephanie has been crazy about locking her doors. She began to think about how she wanted to go about giving the fans what they wanted. After the incident, Stephanie had started to think of ways to get her mind off of the incident. She decided that after almost 20 years, that it was time to give the fans what they wanted. It certainly did not help her case because a few months ago when Mickie James was released, apparently someone sent her a garbage bag of her belongings at her doorstep, despite it being in a box and obviously shipped through the mail. Stephanie had to really rethink her strategy after that incident involving Mickie. To be honest, she hadn't recalled anything like that of the sort until it was too late. Although Stephanie was in fact Vincent Kennedy McMahon's daughter, she had to deal with the people that judged her for simply being Vince's daughter. It pained her sometimes, but she had her own way of dealing with people like that. She would simply try to ignore them, but sometimes, certain people would get the better of her. She never would have ever thought that a woman like Maryse Mizanin would ever get the better of her. To Stephanie, she was another Sable, one of her father's many many mistresses unfortunately. That's why Stephanie would hate when people say that she was like her father, which could be actually far from the actual truth. Stephanie was very respectful, sometimes ruthless (but only when it was necessary), easy to get along with, despite what people tell hosts of the podcasts, reporters, and other people in general. She also would never cheat on her husband, (despite Paul cheating on her in the past). Vince however was Stephanie's polar opposite. Despite being "Daddy's Little Girl", Stephanie and Vince had a very rocky (still pretty rocky to this day) type of relationship. She actually got along with her mom more. They were more alike than anything. Stephanie finally gave up when she was 18 and decided that her and Vince would never have a good relationship. In many conversations, they would agree to disagree. But one thing that they have in common is that when they really want something, they will get it. In this instance, Stephanie decided that she was going to create a women's pay-per-view. She didn't care if it came out of her own paycheck. She was going to give the fans and the women superstars what they deserved. This means more match time, better build-up, match-ups that actually mean something to the fans, and actual female wrestlers that can actually wrestle. She was actually the one who convinced the board to release Eva Marie after Vince hired her in the first place. Majority of the board was entirely against that decision to begin with. She was honestly fed up with her after her first run and actually didn't care to ever see her again. She honestly was so pissed when she found out that Eva Marie was rehired in the first place and for almost 5 months was involved in a story line that she had created. You see, originally Stephanie wanted Alexa Bliss to be in a rivalry, but instead of Doudrop being included in the rivalry, it was supposed to be Nikki Cross slowly reverting back in her SAnitY character after Alexa left her to spend some time with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. This would cause Nikki to feel jealous and betrayed that her best friend would do something like this out of the blue. She knew that the Alexa she knew was still there, she just wasn't sure where. About 3 months had passed and she knew that the Alexa that she knew was probably gone. She had lost majority of her hope, but there was still that 2% that was certain that her best friend was still there, but in the process, Nikki lost herself. She slowly but surely reverted back into her SAnitY character and quickly found herself lost. Luckily she wasn't alone. Stephanie had decided that it was time that Liv Morgan got herself some airtime. She was supposed to become Serene, Nikki's new best friend and Liv's more darker side, just like Alexa had became Lilly. Of course Nikki and Liv were obviously the heel's here. There's a lot of more script that was lying in the corner of Paul's office. Her and Paul had discussed this story line for about a month. Stephanie wrote every last word of that script, but her father decided to discard it. Just like the other 5 story lines that she has written in the last 2 years. That is why Stephanie's biography was put on hold. That and the fact that Stephanie felt that she had about 20 more years to explore before she fully retired. Stephanie sighed as she read the rest of the scripts in her office. She was proud however of the fact that her dad had accepted the Sasha vs. Bianca story line which in fact ended at this year's WrestleMania. She watched from the very front row the entire match, which was amazing in her opinion. Because of the fact that a certain part wasn't in the script, she cringed when Bianca whipped Sasha with her ponytail, but Stephanie was glad that Bianca included that part. Stephanie already had an idea brewing in her head about another story line, one that her dad could not refuse. Later that day, Stephanie had held a meeting with the women on the roster that there was going to be a big change. She even said that she was going to do it, even without Vince's input. She called Charlotte into her office and one single sentence said it all.
