Light up the cabin

Aaron is a 20 year old college student who is looking for a place to stay or a vacation place. His plans are to stay in a cabin in the woods along with his girlfriend and have memorable moments together or so he thought...

"I'm sorry, I don't think I can put up with you anymore " *beep*.

"FUCK! I had everything planned and she fucking chose to break up with me!" Aaron said. He pulled out a beer in the fridge, sat down on the couch, and watched the television. As he keeps changing the channel, he ends up watching the news about people missing in a certain area.

"Local news, people have been missing since going through a place where supernatura-'' the television crashed.

"Huh? Why doesn't anything go my way!?" he smacked the tv. "Stupid fucking tv!".

As he was smacking the tv, a mysterious figure seemed to catch his eye and this startled him.

"WHAT THE-"

Turns out it was just his jacket hanging on the wall. He was relieved when he checked it but little did he know someone was already watching him in his so-called dark place...

Aaron falls asleep

He's having a nightmare about a mysterious thin like figure but immediately woke up and it was morning. He's still tired as if he didn't get any sleep.

"Ugh...I feel like crap right now..."

He prepared breakfast and everything was fine but a certain figure kept flashing on his head and this made him dizzy. He thought that it was probably too much alcohol. He decides to go and have a peaceful meal at a fast food restaurant.

He keeps texting his girlfriend to apologize and to come with him in the cabin.

"I- a - m- sorry...done."

"Ugh...I shouldn't have said that"

He waited for his girlfriend's response but seems like there is no sign of her. He decided that he will go alone. He packed his things and drove to the cabin.

As he was driving, completely unaware, some people seemed to be waving at him as he passed by a dark road and no house was visible. He waved back at them and they all grinned.

He arrived at the area and there was only one person who was visible, an old man on the counter and on that counter there was a kid's picture. The old man accompanied him on the way to the cabin in the woods. Before leaving Aaron alone, the old man gave him two sets of rules and that is to always light up the cabin as much as you can and to charge up the lights when daylight.

"You will be safe for now" the old man said.

He was skeptical about the old man but he chose to light up the cabin. The cabin was cozy and warm, there's a fireplace, and a cozy bed beside a window. He settled his things and tried to cook dinner. The night was peaceful for now and he fell asleep.

Aaron woke up and saw the lights around the area scattered. He arranged it but he seems to be hungry. He went back to the cabin to prepare breakfast and eat. As he was about to enter the cabin he heard a child's laughter. He thought that it might be the Old man's grandkid. He continued to enter his cabin and ate breakfast.

Aaron was busy finding a signal and forgot to charge the lights surrounding the place. It was sundown and the lights are back up, the lights are okay for now.

" ah shit I forgot about the lights..."

"Ah well it's still working, forget what that old man said...psh"

He kicked one of the light stands.

He went to the cozy bed beside the oddly placed window. He was in bed while facing his phone checking for a signal then suddenly...The lights went off only on the outside but not on the inside.

*thud*

He heard the noise and stood up to check, he saw the lights turned off and facepalmed.

"Fuck... this is just STUPID".

He went out to go and find the old man. As he was in the dark woods. Something seems to be lurking...

He arrived at the place where the Old man lives and where they first talked.

No one was there. The living room was bright but no one was there. He looked around and saw a trace of substance scattered on a dark corridor leading to an exit door. He has no clue what that was but he assumed that it was blood. Suddenly one of the doors on the corridor opened, there...was the old man seemingly floating but something was making his feet off the ground, a long crooked hand. The hand moved but stopped when Aaron was there. It didn't move. The old man's mouth was bleeding and supposed to be dead but eyes wide open.

"Sir...Sir! Oh god" his eyes opened wide and startled.

The old man's eyes locked on him an eerie look.

"OH FUCK!"

Aaron runs away but the figure seems to be stuck in motion waiting for him to go into the woods.

"NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! THIS CANT BE...WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!?" he quivered and tears ran down while running deep into the woods.

He saw his cabin and quickly went inside, he packed his things and got a flashlight, he tried to call for help and then He heard a child's laugh...

The laugh stopped. Silence was creeping in. The lights flickered inside the cabin. The lights finally went out and the surroundings were oddly silent. Aaron could hear his heartbeat rising.

"WHO'S THERE! GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FUCKER!"

*thud*"Huh!?" *thud* *thud* *thud* *thud* *thud*...

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH STOPPED PLEASE STOPPPP!!!!"

The thud noise stopped.

Aaron was crying and went out of the woods, terrified of what he witnessed.

He ran into the woods but heard something completely unpleasant. The leaves seem to crumple and the sound of crispness is heard. He hears a pattern step by step and step by step. Aaron stepped back...and something stopped.

Aaron was breathing heavily. Everything was dark and silent. He slowly pulled his flashlight out of the bag as he was shaking and quivering.

"W-what is that..." Turns on his flashlight facing the ground and there he saw an eerie obscure figure.

"ha- " he whimpered.

He slowly stepped back but the creature didn't move. He slowly pointed his flashlight on the creature but it didn't move.

 He was terrified by how the creature was near him. It wasn't breathing and It wasn't moving. He was hyperventilating and slowly stepped back to move away from the creature.

*Crack* *Creak* *CRACK*

A sound can be heard and the creature was eerily moving towards him.
