The Girl on The Bus

Chapter 2

First period wasn't too bad. I had a teacher called Mr Schuester for spanish. He seems like a great person but I don't think he knows Spanish that well.

For second period I had history. I sat on my own since everyone seemed to be friends with each other. I was concentrating so hard since I didn't hear the knock on the door.

"Hey sorry i'm late" i heard a voice call from in between the door. I didn't look up because I was trying too hard to understand my work until I heard the teacher call my name.

"You can take a seat next to Brittany over there" I looked up to see what was going on, and in my presence there she stood. The girl on the bus, with her dark healthy hair and her beautiful tanned skin.

"Hey my name is Santana, you must be Brittany" I practically jumped out of my seat.

"H-Hi yes my name is Brittany" i was so nervous to finally get a chance to talk to her.

Santana sat her bag down on the floor and then softly sat down on the chair next to me.

"Haven't got any friends here either?" She asked whilst pulling all of her items out of her bag.

"What, I do have friends! but yea, my best friend quinn moved town and i'm not really close with anyone else"

She gave me a little smirk and her eyes widened "I can change that" She reached for her pen while accidentally brushing past my arm.

"Oh i'm sorry"

"I'm okay, I mean it's okay" I said while turning red.

The rest of my day was boring. I didn't have santana in the rest of my classes, but I did see her at the end of the day.

I walked up to this massive pinboard and I looked for a club to join. There was soccer, but I'm not too good at it so I ignored it. There was also a glee club, but from what I heard signing up for glee club and joining us 'lame' so if I wanted to make some more friends I shouldn't join the club where everyone tosses slushies in your face.

I found the perfect one. The cheerios. I had never had those fantasies about being a cheerleader, but I'm a great dancer so it shouldn't be that different.

I heard a voice from behind me. Hearing this voice again gave me butterflies.

"Are you thinking of joining the cheerios too?" She said with some hope on her face.

I looked at the pages of lists and in a bright red pen I saw the name Santana Lopez right at the top of it.

"I was thinking of it, since i do dance and-

"Oh my gosh we should totally try out together!" She instantly shouted as soon as I opened my mouth.

She never heard my reason for why I wanted to join the cheerios, but that didn't faze me since she could talk for hours and I wouldn't get bored hearing her voice.

Me and Santana walked to the bus with each other and she chose to sit next to me too.

"I had a great day with you today, even though we didn't spend that much time with each other."

"I had a great day too" I said with a huge smile on my face. I would never admit this to anyone but that was one of the first times I genuinely smiled since Quinn moved away.

Santana reached into her bag and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen.
"Write your number down here so I can text and call you."

"Okay" I gave her a little smirk and started writing my number down while trying to balance it on my knee.

We spent the whole ride talking to each other but it did have to come to an end at some point.

"This is my stop" I said, slightly sad but also excited to call and text this new beautiful girl.

I got up and said my goodbyes to Santana. "Have a safe trip home. I'll message you later and see you tomorrow."

She gave me a smile "I can't wait."

I got off the bus and I still had to walk a little to reach my house, but all I could think about for the rest of the walk home was Santana. How her tight dark blue dress fit her body perfectly, and how her smile was the prettiest smile I had ever seen. I couldn't wait for more days like these. High school was going to be great.
