I was still in a confused daze from seeing that picture on Ms. Weathers' computer. Honestly, could you blame me? The resemblance between her son and my dad when he was that age was uncanny. You'd think—if they weren't from different women—that they were long-lost twins.

Maybe it really was a coincidence like Ms. Weathers said. I mean, my dad has parents. Noni Maggy and Poppop Judis are Dad's parents. Despite this fact, the knowing feeling in the pit of my stomach told me there was more to this than I knew, and the only people who could shed light on it were Noni and Poppop.

As I walked to my locker, I tried my best to push this from my mind or convince myself that there was nothing to question about this situation. However, the only thing I could do was come up with more questions.

How come Noni's never showed me pictures of her when she was pregnant with my dad? Why don't my grandparents have newborn baby pictures of my dad? They've never shown any pictures like that to me or Ky. What was Noni's delivery like? Was Dad a soccer player in the womb, or was he more mellow? The questions kept coming.

All of these were things you usually hear a mother talk about when she's carried and delivered her baby. So why has Noni never mentioned, or talked about them? She's always talked about Dad when he was a baby and when he was a kid, but never when he was in the womb and when he took his first breath. I find that quite odd... That's odd, right?

I was so lost in thought that I hadn't noticed the three squeaky-voiced girls in front of me. My eyes were on the floor, and I wasn't looking where I was going and accidentally bumped into one of them.

"Oh! Sorry! I wasn't paying attention!" I rambled, looking up in shock. My regret quickly slipped away when I was met with the ferocious bitchy stares of the leader of the LPP and her lackeys.

"Ugh! Can you watch where you're going, perra {Bitch}?!" Carmen snarled; her light blue eyes morphed to a deep crimson in warning. Sadie and Sasha giggled.

Sage, Spencer, and Tracy growled in warning at the LPP. The girls immediately stopped giggling and bowed their heads in respect to their Alpha and the threatening warriors.

It's okay guys. I'm fine. I linked them. They stopped growling but kept their menacing glares on the blue-eyed bleached-blonde twits.

Carmen raised her head and looked at me before her gaze fell on Sage. A sly glint fluttered across her eyes before she put into play her terrible acting skills.

"Oh, Alpha! Did you see how that thing bumped into me?! She almost knocked me down!" She whined.

Sage raised a brow to say, 'Oh really'. "I thought the two of you were friends? Isn't that what you said earlier?" He asked with a sarcastic smirk and narrowed eyes, daring her to tell another lie.

Carmen tensed up, but she caught his threat and refused to tell another lie. "Oh! We aren't friends! I was just pretending! We all know that losers like her need friends! I was just trying to be generous!" She smiled fraudulently.

Carmen sauntered over to Sage's side and latched onto his bicep. My jaw clenched in anger as I watched her drape her oversized boobs over his arm. Seeing Sage recoil when she touched him only fueled my flame. I was livid and ready to pop a bitch.

Mustering up as much calmness as I could, I cleared my throat to get her attention. "Carmen... I don't know if you remember this or not, but the Alpha already has a mate."

She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "And? She isn't here right now, is she? So why does it matter?!"

My eyes narrowed, my anger building with every lingering second she was latched onto Sage's arm. I have never wanted to rip her throat out more than I did at this moment. I was hanging on by a thread, and Sage could tell. He harshly yanked his arm out of her grip when he saw my death glare and moved closer to my side; it was his way of reassuring me. The smell of his sweet oceanic scent calmed my rage ever so slightly, but didn't— and if we're being frank, couldn't—fully extinguish it. Nothing could, other than the prospect of putting this dry-haired, split-end-having, STD-carrying bitch in her place.
