Four

Today's weather forecasts says that heavy rains are to be expected, I looked outside through the big picture windows of Bang Burgers and the gray sky looked back at me. In retrospect, I should have brought that umbrella.

Across from where I'm sitting is Sunoo typing away on his laptop, never spoke a single word since we came here, and I'm not mad about this.

Lately, schoolwork is starting to look a lot like my laundry, it's pilling up. And with the upcoming midterm exams, Sunoo and I decided to have a cram session, so here we are.

"Order 27!"

Ah, that'll be us.

I glanced again at Sunoo and I knew that he's pretending not to hear the server lady, his eyebrows unconsciously raised when he heard our number. For world peace, I forced myself to get up and walk towards the counter to pick up our tray.

"Eat up.", I said as I place our orders on the table.

"I've been working so hard for the last hour, I deserve this.", justfying his desicion of ordering 8 large 'Be Burgers', "And while were taking a little break we should talk about your 'movie night' last week, ey?"

"Nice try."

"If you tell me what happened I swear I won't laugh."

"Not a chance."

PHONE RINGING 🎵

The only person who would call me without prior notice is Sunoo, but he's with me. Mom is a close second, she keeps bugging me ever since I told her about Suhyun. I yanked the phone out of my bag and Suhyun's name flashed across the screen.

"Suhyun?", I answered the call.

I heard sniffling over the line.

"Speaking of the devil", Sunoo commented as he devours his 2nd burger. I press my index finger against my lips which translates to 'shut up'.

"What's up? Talk to me."

"I think--", she sobs, "--I broke my ankle."

"What!?", I stood up from my seat, "Try not to move, I'll be there."

I searched for my wallet in my bag and slipped it into my jacket.

"I washed my hair and was in the middle of drying it while walking out of the bathroom when I slipped.", Suhyun explains.

"Just try to relax and stay calm.", I covered the mic hole in the phone to talk to Sunoo, "Watch my things will you? Don't leave, I'll be right back."

"Sure thing, Romeo.", he sneered.

"I'm on my way, hang in there", I end the call.

I waved for a taxi and hopped in as soon I got out of Bang Burgers. It took 20-30 minutes to reached Suhyun's apartment building. I rushed to the elevator and hurriedly pressed her floor number. Seconds later, I'm staring at the same front door I was banging my head against 7 days ago. Then, I realized that I can't get in because I don't know the passcode.

"SUHYUN! CAN YOU HEAR ME!? I NEED YOUR PASSCODE!", I shouted one day worth of my voice.

I tried knocking on the door, but it was to no avail. I knocked harder, still no response. She probably can't hear me with this thick walls, the bathroom door is closed too.

SIGHS

Suddenly, I heard the sound of the elevator opening. And when I turned to my right, I saw Sunghoon approaching with gritting teeth and his eyebrows clashing.

He's angry, and worried but mostly angry.

When an Alpha is in a state of feeling strong emotions, in his case anger, the stronger the pheromones they emit. If he smells like this whenever he's in distress, what more if he's in his 'rut'?
