Matt was frozen, startled by his own name, and more so the voice who said it. He slowly loosened his arm and held onto the gem, turning around to see a old friend. Standing in front of him was edd, who was looking at him up and down. Matt felt something in his chest, like a void being filled. Matt looked at him and opened his mouth. "e....edd?" Edd took a step forward and smiled, holding his arms out. "Matt?" Matt's eyes instantly began filling with tears as his body finally loosened up, a smile crept on his face and he felt a overwhelming emotion of warmth. "Edd!" He made no hesitation as he ran to edd, running into him and holding him close, keeping the amethyst away from edds skin. "Edd! I- I missed you so much i-i-" "shh-shh- there, there.. you're okay." Edd reassured matt, running his back and hugging him.
Matt couldn't stop himself from crying, he couldn't stop the tears. It was as if hearing edds voice broke a emotional dam in his mind. He buried his face into edds shoulder, sniffling lightly. For once in a very long while, matt felt warmth. He smiled and hugged edd tighter, sinking down as his legs gave way. "I missed you so much!-"
