It was a rainy day at the Bates Motel.

Norma Bates woke up. 11.17. She never woke up this late. "That's new." she thought.

Soon she walked into the kitchen, already dressed. Her other son Dylan was sitting at the table enjoying his coffee. They didn't talk much anymore, since they always had fights. "Morning" was the only thing he said. "Goodmorning hun" she responded. She grabbed some bread and walked down to the motel. She could see through the windows Norman checking a family in. 2 adults with childern. She waited outside until the guests left the office, and then walked in.

"How is it going?" Norma asked. "His way." Norman responded fast. "You need any help or-" but before she could finish her sentence Norman responded with again a quick answer "No I don't mother." She was so confused why he was acting like this "What's up with that behaviour?" He ignored her and just walked to the back. "Norman?" Out of anger she walked out of the office.

But before she reached the long stairs to the house Emma came running to her. "Norma?"

"Oh hey Emma" Norma responded. "What's wrong?" Emma's face was pale. She looked like she didn't sleep." "Do you um miss a knife?" Norma didn't understand what she meant. "A knife from your kitchen I think, do you miss one?" Emma asked again. "What is this suddenly for question?" Norma asked. "I think I saw Norman take a knife out of the kitchen yesterday." Norman always had blackouts and he could become dangerous when he had one. "Why do you tell me now, and not yesterday?" Norma asked. She was already in a mood and this didn't make it better. "Because I thought you wouldn't believe me." Emma responded, now looking at the ground.

"I never said I did now." Norma said. Emma's face got even more pale. "I'm sorry." Emma responded. "I will just check if I miss one, just go to the office." Before Emma could respond, Norma walked away.

Norma walked into the house and got immediately to the kitchen. Dylan looked up "What are you looking for, Norma?" he asked. "It is nothing Dylan." But she only said it was nothing. It wasn't even true. She missed a knife and stressed out. Dylan got up "Norma what is wrong?" She didn't respond and just ran down to the motel, with Dylan chasing her. "Norma?!" Empty. Norman and Emma disappeard.

"Norma what the hell is going on?" Dylan asked again. "Norman might have a knife." She responded without looking at him. "What do you mean by that?" Norma turned around and stared at Dylan. "He has a knife and might hurt someone."
