Third Person

Yoongi doesn't understand.

He's had months to prepare for this, it's been three years since he'd bought the silver band that remains locked in the safe inside of his small office area. But he's stuck. Never in his five years of writing has he EVER felt the way he does now, pen sitting uselessly on the left hand side of his notebook as he tries to come up with something to say, a way to put his feelings into words.

"Yoongi? Hyung, are you still working?" Namjoon's voice interrupts his thoughts, the older of the two looking up toward the closed door. He stands, closing the notebook and opening the door for his lover.

"Just finished. Time to decorate already, huh?" A small smile forms on the shorter's lips, as Namjoon leans down to press their lips together briefly.

"It may have only been like...half an hour." He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "But I'm so excited to hang up the ornaments, the new ones!"

"I could never stay mad at you, love." Yoongi laughs lightly, taking the younger's hand in his. "Christmas music?"

"Of course, it's tradition." He playfully rolls his eyes, flipping the switch to turn on their run down stereo that sits in the corner of the living room. As soon as an awful remix of 'Jingle Bells' pops on, Yoongi starts working on putting up the tree. They work in silence for around twenty minutes, each song on the stereo becoming worse than the last.

"Maybe we should upgrade the discs, darling. These songs are absolutely atrocious." Yoongi mumbles, moving away from the tree to study the lights.

"Using unnecessarily large words, I see." Namjoon scoffs, his tone teasing. "We're not getting rid of them, it's tradition to listen to these songs over and over again, every Christmas. I blame you, hyung."

"Fine, fine. We'll have to add new ones then." The older laughs lightly. He holds out his hand for Namjoon to grab, smiling when he takes it. "Dance with me?"

"Dance? The most we'll be doing is swaying and spinning, babe, we both can't dance." The younger states, but grins his annoyingly adorable dimpled grin, and starts swaying anyway.

It's standing in the middle of their living room dancing and listening to Mariah Carey belt, 'All I Want For Christmas is You', when Yoongi realizes that he wants this for the rest of his life.

He wants to spend every day, every Christmas with the man in his arms. Looking up, Yoongi caresses Namjoon's face and smiles softly. "I love you."

"I love you too." The younger smiles. Yoongi shakes his head and moves out of his lover's grip, rushing down the hallway to grab the ring from his safe.

"Hyung? Why'd you run off like that, what're you-" He cuts himself off when he spots the velvet box in his boyfriend's hands. "Yoongi..."

Yoongi smiles at him, eyes bright and full of love. "Marry me. I want to be a part of your life forever, Namjoon. I want to wake up beside you, grow old together, try new things with you. I just...I love you. I love you so much, I can't even put it into words. Please, marry me?"

Namjoon sniffles, his bottom lip wobbling slightly as he takes in the scene unfolding in front of his eyes. "Of course I'll marry you! I want all of that too, hyung, everything!"

He's pulled up from the floor and immediately feels lips pressed to his, hands cupping his face as tears roll down both of their cheeks.

"I guess you could say...all I want for Christmas is you."

"Shut up, that was awful."
