Chapter 7: New Man

New Man

I woke up, got dressed in my favorite pink t-shit, jeans, and Uggs a smile on my face. I headed downstairs, where my dad had breakfast ready for me. I sat down and eat all of it. My metabolism is not like most girls, I can eat virtually anything and still be thin. I was in such a good mood; my heart was humbling cause of Asher. My father noticed my enthusiasm for the day, in his apron holding a pan he asked, "What has gotten into you?" He was happy to see me so happy. I smiled widely and said, "Just excited for school today!"

"Do you have rehearsals?" He asked. "Yes, we do, but I am just excited to be at school today!" My dad than look at me and asked, "What is your play about again?" I frowned, I had to keep reminding him. "It's a gender swap of Hamilton. I am play Alexander Hamilton" I answered my dad. "Is he the main character?" my dad asked. "Yes, he is, the music and drama teachers, Ms. Apple and Ms. Hank said I have the best voice in the grade." I told, proud to be so talented. I don't usually brag or anything about my skills, but I am good at horseback riding, singing, and acting. That also is probably why a lot of girls in my class dislike me. When I was chosen to play Aleksander Hamilton, I was surprised but also not to shook. Kelsey is playing George Washington, she is the second best at singing, she wants to be a singer and we even talked about forming a band back in middle school.

It was than I heard a honk and I jumped up from my chair. "Gtg, love you day!" "Love you too!" he yelled as I ran out of the door. I rush through the lawn, where Hayden was waiting in his car outside my house. Today was Tuesday, so I had school and work. I was so excited to see Asher. "You seem hyper today." Hayden commented as he drove. "You could say that." I smiled at him. "So, Asher drove you home." His voice was time.

"Yea, I can't wait to see him at school, I think he'll ask me to be his girlfriend." Hayden went silent, before saying. "Penny, he's not going to be at school, he was suspended." My heart dropped, all that excited of the day drained away, and as we drove up to the school, it began to rain. School was long, the whole time I thought about Asher, and hoped to see him at work. Even at rehearsal I was not into it as much as usual. When rehearsals ended, I walked outside the school and waited in the rain for my dad, but a convertible with it's roof up drove in front of me instead. It was ASHER! "Hop in buddle butt!" He playful called, and I ran over and got into his warm car. When I was seated, we kissed, I tasted the bubble-gum he was chewing on his breath. I put my hand on his bicep and chest as we kissed, after he pulled away and spoke. "Let's get back to work." I looked at him surprised, was he at the ranch all day? "You said 'Back' to work?" Asher smiled, "Yea, I was there all day, I even taught your class how to dismount while at a walk." I glowed, bouncing on him from my seat I began kissing his face all over.

He seemed so changed, his attitude and disposition improved overnight it seemed. I got off him and he drove me back to the ranch. Even his driving seemed different, not as Reckless. We arrived at Aurdery plains, once I step out of his car Bronco and Copper the Australian Shepherds ran up to say hi to me. We than entered the stalls, the ran had stopped by than, and I see all the stalls clean and horses in their paddocks. Lucy than stepped out of the office, and said "Hey guys!" Asher and I were holding hands. "Hello Lucy!" Replied Asher. WHAT!? He said her actual name. "Oh, are you two a thing?" Asked Lucy in a disappointed way. Lucy was short and cute and all, but I knew Asher a day longer than her, and I had a crush on him for longer so she can't be mad I am with him. "Yea, me and Penny are together." Said Asher in a happy voice. "We'll you too make a cute couple." Lucy answered in an unamused away. She than turned around and went back into the office. When she left, Asher turned to me, holding both of my hands he stared deeply into my crip blue eyes. His green eyes so sharp and gorgeous, I wish I could live within them. "I have Prince and Princess tacked up, I was wondering if you would take a ride with me, since all the work is done." I smiled, my stomach flying with butterflies. "I would love that." We bored Prince and Princess and rode out of the stalls into the fields of Audrey's plans. The rain had stopped, and in the sky was a rainbow. It was like a new day, and I was with a new man. We rode to the forest, where there were trails. As we rode, I gazed at him and wished I would have shared a horse with him so I could be closer.
