My black boots clumsily hit the stone ground of the palace, as my breathing quickens. Running is very difficult in tight black pants, I think while turning a sharp corner. My pouch bumps against my side which is filled with many precious gems, Footsteps follow me.

"Stop in the name of the King!" The guard angrily yells, I don't care what the king's guard says I turn another corner a dead end is in my future, I stop at the pebble wall. I swiftly turn around to look for my escape however, the guard is already here. I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my small figure at lightning speed.

I try to glance at him yet the dark mask which covers my pale face is hard to look through. He chuckles "Every thief is the same, they are all stupid fools!" My mouth drops to say something yet nothing escapes. "C'mon thief, hand over the jewels and I'll let you leave with your head."

My small hands clutch the top of the pouch, as I feel the guards gaze burn through my hand.

I glance back at him with a mysterious smirk and lift my hands from the pouch. My mask becomes easier to see through and I notice his features. He's about 6'1, around 17, raven colored hair which is nicely cut, his eyes are an emerald green. He wears a white long sleeve shirt with the kingdom's crest, a gold shield with a green and purple dragon, with brown pants and black boots, he is very nicely tanned, and he seems very strong, and good looking. I realize I've been gawking him he quickly reaches for his sword.

Once more "Hand over the jewels...Now!" He demands I refuse while giving him a sly smile showing all my pearly whites. He swiftly pulls out his sword, the sound of the metal against the sheath was enough to make me cringe. "For the King!" he yells while lunging I easily dodge. "Wow your really bad" I laugh using my most masculine voice. This time he furiously lunges his sword ripping by black top sleeve sending blood seeping through. "How's that for bad?" he chuckles. I quickly grab my dagger from inside my boot and leap toward him.

I'm too fast for him, I slice his arm just as he had done to me, his eyes widen in fear. I have no idea why he has a sword, I swiftly cut him again sending blood onto his white shirt distracting him with the dagger. I plunge my small knee into his stomach sending him falling. He is really bad for a palace guard, I smirk and hit him upside the head with the end of the blade sending him holding his head.

"They don't make guards like they use to" I laugh.

"You will pay!" are the last words that escape his mouth before I jab the end of the dagger against his skull once more. Lifelessly he lay however, he still breaths, I calmly yet stealthily start to run out of the corner. I head for a door there are so many I easily become confused and stare at a window. My escape!

I sit on the edge of the window staring at the palace gardens they are so beautiful my breathing becomes steady and calm. Only to quicken, I hear more footsteps and do the unthinkable, I jump from the rocky window seal which is two stories high! As I near the green mossy grass I land on my feet my ankle making a loud pop.

"Crap, that's going to hurt in the morning," I whisper quickly grabbing my ankle while gently rubbing it, its fine for now I think...

"Where did the thief go?" Men question most likely more guards.

I swiftly run behind a bush with red roses and then to one with white daisies the smells take over my nose and I immediately fall in love with the palace garden.

While lurking into the shadows I slowly pull off my hood and walk toward a pond full of fish. Glancing at my reflection my long, chestnut hair is pinned up into a bun, mainly so no one would know I'm a girl. My pale skin reflecting off of the moon it's so bright I almost have to look away, my eye's which are still covered by the slim mask are a mix of browns, greens and even some blues.
