• Location : Sister Rosaria Chatolic School, Teacher's Lounge. After the nurse incident that happened yesterday, we sisters have decided to arrange a last minute meeting in the teacher's lounge. When I arrived in the room, everyone was already seated. I was the last to arrive, but thank god no one yelled at me for being late.
The teacher's lounge had this enormous table that takes place in the middle of the room, an expensive and shiny chandelier that was probably from the 90's, and a bunch of empty frames with supposedly pictures of previous deceased head sisters at the school. The only picture remaining, was sister Rosaria's. The photograph was in Black and white so I couldn't really tell what colours she had on.
At the edge of the table was the seat of the director: Sister Orianna.
[• Sister Orianna, 56 years old, the only Nun around sister Rosaria school, has been a Nun for god knows how long, scary, has no sense of humour, the definition of authority.]
Orianna : "Thank you everyone for coming, please be seated. We will proceed with our morning prayer."
I've got to admit, the morning prayer is probably the most stressful part of the meeting. Everytime, sister Orianna chooses one of us to lead the prayer before we start the meeting. And I know I shouldn't be stressed out like a 14 year old who feels forced to wake up early to go to church, but that's the way I feel around sister Orianna. I think it's because in reality, I accepted the job for the salary, without thinking of the consequences. And it sucks because not only my faith in god isn't the brighest, but I'm also terrible at improvisation. Let's just hope I don't get chosen this time.
Orianna : "Terrence, please lead the prayer for us this morning."
Shit, it's like she read my mind. Well there's no going back now...
Terrence : "Of course..."
My body started shaking. But this time, I knew what I had to say... sort of.
Terrence : "God, we are all seated together this morning to thank you fo- for all the things you do for us. We...hope for this meeting to be blessed by your presence and your protection. You must also be aware of the... um... the previous events, and you know that we are terrified and- and anxious. Please be our shelter... and help us.. overcome everything. Amen."
Everyone (simultaneously) : "Amen."
Orianna : "Thank you, Sister Terrence. Now as you all know, we are gathered here to discuss about the murder of our deceased nurse, Miss Kadie, and the future of the... nurses' office. Now, it would be logical to say that each and everyone one of us is a possible suspect, since we were all present yesterday. In fact, those who were outside should be considered the most suspicious of committing this crime. But let me make something clear : even though the murderer could be in this room right now, let me assure you, you are all innocent."
We were all so confused that we started looking at each other. I have so many questions but I think it would be best if we let sister Orianna finish her explanation.
Orianna : "But the murderer is in this room. In fact, she's looking at us right now."
Sister Orianna then pointed her finger at the wall of frames. The wall that only had one photograph...
Monique : "But Sister Orianna, surely you don't think that..."
Orianna : "And why not?"
Monique : "It sounds ridiculous!"
Orianna : "Oh really? 'Ridiculous' you say? If your faith in the almighty saviour is true, then you cannot deny the existence of evil spirits."
