Only One For Me

Chapter. 5 "Just Smile and Wave"

[MINA'S POV]

It was already Monday at exactly 3:00PM. Tzuyu and I agreed to meet at the school's library after class so that we could discuss about the research paper and so is a plan for her and Sana.

I was currently reading a book while waiting for her to arrive.

When one of our classmates Sayaka came and peek through the library's double doors while mouthing. "Mina-san, Hirose sensei asked for you to meet her in the faculty."

"Oh, alright I'll be right there."I replied as I stood up, returned the book to its usual place then head to the faculty room not forgetting to inform Tzuyu where I was heading through a text message.

I gently knocked at the faculty room's door before heading inside, not forgetting to greet every teacher I came across as I walk towards Hirose sensei's table. Hirose sensei was currently sitting as piles of papers was on her desk.

"Sensei, Sayaka-san said you would like to see me?" I asked as I stop in front of her desk and bowed my head slightly.

She shifted her attention towards me and said."Ah, yes Ms. Myoi I would like to ask for your help, could you please get the copy of the old test sheets from the storage room for me? It's the blue box that has a 'Test Sheets' labeled on it."

I nodded and said. "Oh, sure thing sensei, I'll be right back." With that said I immediately went on my way.

If you're wondering why of all the odds Hirose sensei ask for me instead of another student? Well that's because I am one of the few students here who has a storage room key. Only one student who excells in every class are given the opportunity to have one.

I arrive in front of the storage room it was actually just beside our gymnasium. I took the key out of my purse as I unlock the door and pry it open.

I tried pressing the light switch on which was place on the left of the entrance but. "Eh? It doesn't work anymore? Maybe they forgot to change the lightbulb. Good thing there's still a bit of light coming from outside." I mumbled as I walk further inside not forgetting to use my phone as a flashlight to illuminate the place a bit more.

I stare at the boxes that was neatly placed on the shelves one after the other until a certain blue caught my eyes, I started to walk towards it and was about to get it when a loud thud coming from behind me was heard. I almost immediately whipped my head to look at the back. "W-who goes there?" I held my phone closer to my chest but to my surprise, no one was there.

Until I heard another thud coming from my left, I shifted my attention to where the sound came from still not a single soul. When the sound came closer and closer.

I slowly move backwards until I was tripped by a small rock that was lying on the ground but I managed to hold on the shelve's frame for support but it wasn't a great idea after all as one of the shelves foot broke because of the weight now boxes are falling towards me. I closed my eyes, I was already trembling in fear as I anticipate for some of the boxes to hit me. When suddenly, I felt a strong hug engulfed me as strong arm shielded us both from the falling boxes.

And when I opened my eyes, to my surprise it was non other than. 'Chou Tzuyu'. "Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" She said as she stood up and offered me a hand to which I gladly accepted.

"Y-yeah, Thank you Tzuyu-chan" I notice she wasn't letting my hand go as she looks at me with a hint of worry written all over her beautiful face.

"How did you know I was here though?" I said but my eyes are still focus on our intertwined hands. I started blushing as I look away and shook some thoughts off my mind.

*Thug Thug*

When she notice where I was looking at, she almost immediately let my hand go and said. "O-oh I went to the faculty room to look for you, Hirose sensei said you were here so I followed you here luckily I was just in time." She said while flashing a smile.

Why are you making it harder for me?

We both heard a loud thud yet again follow by a black cat trying to catch a running mouse going out of the storage room.

"So that's what it was!' I clasp both of my hands while Tzuyu just look at me confusingly and said. "What was it?"

"Oh nevermind, it's nothing Tzuyu-chan" I stated.

She then help me carry the blue box towards the faculty room.

After that, we decided to head towards the nearby cafe. Tzuyu and I occupied a table on the corner far from many people so we could talk freely.

It was a pleasant silence and we already ordered some Ice Americanos and banana loaf for the both of us to share. Our orders arrive in just a few minutes of waiting.

"So, what do you think I should do?" Tzuyu asked while leaning her chin on her right hand.

I knew what she meant.

"Sa-chan likes perfume and scented candles. Especially the lavender ones" I simply said without sparing her a glance.

"That's perfect! But buying won't cut it. I want to make both for her, that way I can convey how much she means to me." She excitedly announced.

I just nodded while staying mum as I continued stirring my Ice Americano using my straw.

"Are you free this Friday after class?" Tzuyu said while looking at me intently.

I look back at her as I utter a small. "Yes. Why?"

She was now shyly fidgeting on her seat as she rubs her nape with her right hand.

"Can you- uhh. accompany me to buy the ingredients? I'm not really that familiar with other places here." She stuttered a little while mumbling these words.

Say no Mina! Say you're busy, if you don't stop this now you will end up getting hurt.

"I-it's alright if you don't want to Mina-chan." She continued saying while shaking both of her hands mid air.

"You helped me earlier Tzuyu-chan. Therefore count this one as a thank you. I'll be there on Friday after class." I said while flashing her a gummy smile.

I knew it! I can't say no to her. Yep, I'm doomed.

After we were both done eating. We decided to walk home together since our route home is just the same surprisingly her house was just 3 blocks away from mine.

We both bid our goodbyes.

Before she went inside she turns around and waves at me smiling widely. I just mirrored what she was doing in return

Just smile and wave Mina, Smile and wave.
