A howl broke out from the bramble bush. "Is she going to be alright?" A black-and-white tom asked as he watched his brother pace back and forth. "I'm sure she will. Spottedleaf is a good medicine cat." A gray-and-white tabby she-cat mumbled, A beautiful tortoiseshell poked her head out of the den. "I need someone to go get some chervil!" Spottedleaf called, "Is Brindleface going to be ok?" The tabby she-cat asked, Spottedleaf glanced between her mother and her brothers, Redtail finally stopped pacing. "She is doing fine, she just needs some help." Spottedleaf mewed, "Swiftbreeze, I need your help." Spottedleaf asked her mother, "Perhaps we should get a medicine cat from another clan." Patchpelt suggested, Redtail wiped his head around. "Why I thought she was fine." He snapped, "Let me see her." Redtail pushed past his sister and mother, his gaze landed on Brindleface. She lifted her head to let out a howl of pain. Redtail hurried over to her side, "Redtail. You need to leave!" Spottedleaf called, but it fell on deaf ears. Rosetail popped in with herbs in her mouth. "Hey, I got the chervil." She mewed, after putting the leaves down. Spottedleaf picked them up and made her way to Brindleface. "Redtail, I know how you get when Brindleface is in pain, so I need you to leave," Spottedleaf demanded. Redtail glared at his sister. He glanced at Brindleface and gave her a swift lick on the muzzle before backing out of the warm, dry den. "Redtail, I need your help." A gray-blue she-cat padded up to him, rain dripped from her fur as it did with every cat who was outside. "What is it Bluestar?" He questioned.

"The river has broken its banks again. We should send a patrol to make sure everyone is alright." Bluestar muttered, she looked upset. Maybe Bluestar was trying to distract Redtail. Why else would the ThunderClan leader care about another clan? "RiverClan is much more prepared to deal with flooding than we are." Redtail pointed out. It's true, the rival clan swims and eats fish, they also deal with flooding every year. Redtail glanced at the nursery, his beautiful mate was in there, in-during the pain to bring their kits into this world. Redtail wasn't going to leave her to check on another clan. Bluestar stared at him, "I'm your leader. I demand that you go check on them." She hissed, hackles raising. Redtail was surprised, he had never seen Bluestar or any of the past leaders do this. "You may be my leader but I am your deputy and we are not risking the lives of our warriors to visit another clan. A clan that we have been at war with for a very long time." Redtail argued, Tigerclaw appeared next to Bluestar. "Redtail, you're going to divide the clan. Is that what you want?" Tigerclaw challenged. Redtail glared at him, he may have been Leopardfoot's son but he couldn't stand the warrior. "This is not a conversation for warriors," Redtail snapped. "And if you are so concerned about RiverClan, then maybe take you can go visit them," Redtail growled, before turning his back on the dark warrior and his leader. Just before Redtail walked away he could hear Bluestar and Tigerclaw's conversation, "you going and check on RiverClan," Bluestar ordered. He could feel the glared from Bluestar. He spotted Swiftbreeze and Rosetail were standing outside, he ran over to the she-cats. "Is Brindleface alright?" Redtail demanded. Swiftbreeze glanced at her son, "Brindleface is fine, just a little tired and probably sad." Swiftbreeze answered, "Sad? Why would she be sad?" Redtail asked, mainly to himself. Swiftbreeze laid her tail on Redtail's shoulder, "Some of the kits didn't make it." Swiftbreeze announced, "you have two daughters and one son." Rosetail piped up, "how many kits died?" Redtail questioned, "three." Swiftbreeze answered, "we already buried them, so Brindleface or you didn't have to suffer." Rosetail added.

Redtail pushed his way into the nursery, again his graze landed on the most beautiful she-cat in the clan. He can't believe how much he loves her. He padded up to him. Her usual bright green eyes shimmered with sadness. "I'm sorry," She whimpered. He pressed his muzzle to hers. "You have nothing to be sorry for. I don't blame you." Redtail muttered against her fur. His eyes caught the three tiny kits at her belly. One was light ginger, she reminded him of sand, like that sand at Sandy Hollow. The tom was a brown tabby tom, similar to Adderfang either than Tigerclaw. It made Redtail miss his father. Adderfang died as a warrior, giving his life up in battle defending the clan from ShadowClan. Swiftbreeze was devastated, especially after they found Leopardfoot in a pool of her own blood. He blinks the memories from his head and glanced at Brindleface. "They're beautiful." Redtail purred. He lowered himself to the ground, resting his head on her flank and intertwining their tails together. "What are their names?" He asked as he looked down at the beautiful kits that they created. "I haven't named them yet. I was waiting for you." Brindleface answered, "What do you want to name them then?" Redtail questioned. "Well, I was thinking of naming the tom, Adderkit," Brindleface confessed. "After Adderfang." Redtail muttered, "Yeah, I know how much Adderfang meant to you ." Brindleface replied, he buried his muzzle into her fur. "Do you like it?" She asked, He lifted his head. "Yeah, I do." He purred, "That ginger she-kit should be named Sandkit, for her pelt." Redtail ran his tail down her little body, "Nice, and that little gray she-kit is going to be named Mistkit." Brindleface purred, "I like it." He nudged her muzzle with his. "I love you so much." Redtail purred, "I love you too." She yawned, "I will let you get some sleep." He mumbled.

Redtail started to raise to his paws, "Don't leave." Brindleface pleads and he glanced at her before laying back down, next to her. It wasn't long until Brindleface was asleep. Redtail looked down at the kits. He listened to Brindleface's snore, his eyelids started to feel heavy. He laid his head down and closed his eyes, soon he was asleep.
