Chapter Five

Dear Diary,

Harry stopped by yesterday.. Yes, I mean Harry Styles. I have no idea why but it was nice. To finally have someone to talk to and take my mind off of everything going on around me. He's really great, I just hope that wasn't the last time I see him. He's the only person since McKenzie who knows how to properly clear my head and make me smile. I would never open up to him about anything personal, 'cause that's just not what I do, but it is great to have some company. I haven't seen my mum for a few days, I wonder if she's going to visit me today..? I hope so.. I want to tell her all about yesterday. Well, I don't have much else to say as of right now, but I'll fill you in tomorrow.

Love,

Hailey

-Harry-

Harry didn't know why he went to see Hailey again, or why he kept it a secret from his friends. Maybe it was because he wanted to know her better, or because he felt like she needed a friend. And he wanted to be that friend.

He used the excuse that he had some errands to run, to get out of the house without question. Harry wasn't sure what his friends would think of him going to see Hailey again, so he just didn't tell them. It's not like it pertains to them anyway, he thought.

"Harry! Pay attention! Play the track again, the sooner you get it right, the sooner you can all go home." A random voice cut Harry from his thoughts, drawing him back to reality. He and the boys were in the studio, recording some new songs at the moment. The same routine they've become accustomed to within the last month or so.

The music played once again, and this time Harry made sure to get it right. For the sake of his friends and himself. They had all been overworked and tired lately, barely getting enough sleep to function properly.

Harry really wanted to go see Hailey again; the last time he went was so fun and enjoyable. By the time he left the hospital, he had completely forgotten all about the stress and exhaustion resulting from his long days at work.

By the look in Hailey's eyes, he knew that what he did wasn't just benefiting him. Halfway through his visit, her eyes seemed to shine brighter and her smiler wider and more contagious than before. She laughed and joked with him for what felt like hours, but he knew she was in pain.

There was always a second where you could see her true feelings show through. Like a flicker of hurt flooded her features, only to be replaced by a huge grin. Harry just ignored it though, he knew that if she wanted him to know what was bothering her, she would have said something or not tried so hard to cover it up.

Although, he knew - or he thought he did - what was making her feel that way. Her Cancer, obviously. She was locked in a hospital, alone in a cold room with nothing to do. And here he was, living it up, following his dreams.

Hailey would never have that chance, she would never be able to experience life the way he did.

She is so young, and yet there is nothing he could do to stop the cause of her pain. So, he planned on doing the only thing he knew how. Distract her.

Harry would do anything possible to take her mind off of her situation and to put a smile on that pretty little face of her's. The only problem was: when? He was loaded with work; still having plenty of songs to record.

He was going to make it work, no matter what the cost.

The second Hailey's mother walked in the door, Hailey started rambling. Only half of the words coming from her lips were coherent. Laura stood before her daughter, a puzzled look set on her features.
