WHEN I GET TO SCHOOL there is a lot of whispering about something exciting. I go over to Noya to see if she knows what's going on.
"Hey VonRichter," Noya greets as I walk over. "How was your weekend?""Eh, just like any other. Josh left me at home while he went and 'worked' so I just did homework. How was your weekend?" I ask politely.
"Oh you know same old, same old," she looks over at me. "I know you didn't come over here to make small talk. What do you need?"
"Damn you see straight through my bull shit don't you? Anyway, what's all the whispering about?" I ask looking around.
"Look over there and you'll see your answer," she says with a hard tone. "What a tramp. I bet she'll sleep with half the guys here in the first month."
"Oh I wouldn't be so sure about that, sweetie," a British accented voice begins. "I may be new here but I am not a slut. Maybe you should go on and spread rumors elsewhere."
"I- um who are you?" I stammer as I turn around and come face to face with a tall blonde haired beauty.
"I am Robyn, but you can call me Jinx. Now, I believe you are VonRichter, correct?" She asks.
"Yes, how may I help you?" I ask without interest.
"So glad you asked," she begins with thick sarcasm. "The principal said you could show me around the school," she finishes.
"Sure," I say slowly. This is honestly the last thing I want to be doing right now.I walk her through the halls, pointing to each of her classes as we pass them. I really wish I was in class listening to Mr. Roman drone on about the importance of math in our everyday lives. I think I am going to go home early. I think if I go through this school day, I am going to need a double of Fireball. Why couldn't the exchange at least be nice? I stumbled across another new student. This one is American and decently nice. His name is Silas, but politely asks me to call him Remy. Remy is a fairly short, light skinned beauty, with a cute button nose, and eyes the shape of almonds. I can't help but make a jibe.
"I am sorry, but I gotta ask. Is your skin just really light or does your hair make it light." I crack. The dark brown hair makes this guy look like a vampire. He allows a weak grin before walking away. "Listen, I think I need to go home. Do you think you can find your way?" I ask while turning to Jinx.
"I think I can find it," she says looking abashed. "Thanks for your help by the way. I think you know what I am going through in a way, if I have any questions I'll get a hold of you." As I started to walk away Jinx said "Hey VonRichter what's your number?" so I gave it to her. After that last conversation we parted ways and went home. Later that night I received a message from an unknown number saying "Hey VonRichter this is Jinx" so I replied "Hey Jinx what's happening?"

I draw my weapon and walk carefully towards Josh's car. There's blood all over the interior. The body of the car resembles a crushed soda can. Then I look towards the house. Did he make it inside, or did someone break in? I go back to my car and radio dispatch.
"Dispatch, do you copy?" I ask into the microphone.
"Go for dispatch," the radio squawks."I am 1199 at 312 16th Avenue. We might have a missing federal agent," I say and look back towards the house. I throw the radio receiver onto the driver seat of my car and start walking towards the house. Then a shot goes off from inside the house and hits me just outside of my vest's coverage area. I make a grab for my radio. "Dispatch make that a 10/13," I barely finish before I pass out on the ground. Then I feel a sharp pain.

When I come to, I am in a dark room with bags over the walls and floor. I begin looking around and see my gear on a table across the room. I look to the other side and see Josh strapped to a chair, his face bleeding. When I look forward, I see a guy standing by one of the walls. I must have missed him in my original look around the room.
"What do you want from us," I snarl in fury. The man looks at me for a second and laughs. I try to pull out of my restraints but he tied it so I can't pull myself loose. I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I guess he forgot to check me for stuff so I might still have my ankle holster with me. I look back at Josh, and the man starts to walk towards me. I look back at him and see a knife in his hand. He cuts me and Josh from the restraints, and leaves the door open behind him. I grab my gear and we find my car right outside the door. That's when I realize my keys aren't in my pocket. I ran back to the building, finding them next to the chair I was strapped to. As I straightened up, I had a gun click behind me. I turn around to see the man with a gun pointed at me. This time he says something. Something to make fresh milk curdle. Hearing it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He said "we'll be keeping an eye on you. Do something we don't approve of, and Yolissa is dead. Have a good day." I wanted to call Yolissa when I got back to the car, but I couldn't let this guy know he won. Then there's another issue when I get back to the car. One of the tires is slashed, and I don't keep a spare. We flag someone down who luckily has a spare.
