(Not a) Prologue

THIS IS NOT A PROLOGUE!

Welcome to Armageddon 3.0!

This is an (hopefully) improved version of the story you may or may not have come across a while back. This is a third draft, and with it come some interesting changes:

The first change you will notice is that I have changed Rahanna's name to Edgar after Edgar Allan Poe - her favourite writer. Why would I give her such a masculine name - you ask? Well, to make her character quirky, of course! But, really, I just think I see a really strong, tough woman in her, and I think her name should reflect that, so she's got a man's name now.

P.S. I'm not saying that women are weak; I'm just playing off of the societal notion that masculinity is stronger and inherently more desirable than femininity.

Another change you may notice is that Edward is now... rich! Yup, the guy stinks of money, and you know what? You can blame tv. So, a while back I saw Friends With Money - a film by Nicole Holofcener - and I kind of wished I could make something like it. So, I did. And here we are.

Bruno has become Léo Leroux, an amazing lawyer coming from a rich family in France and you're going to see him a little bit more than you did in the last book (he still won't play a major role, but you will see him).

Josh is now Charlie - named after Daniel Keyes's character; although the two characters are not quite the same, I just thought it'd be cool to pay homage to Flowers for Algernon.

I was also made aware that Alejandro was basically the poster boy for toxic masculinity; so, I've toned things down a bit. I hope he's a little more enjoyable now.

Another great change is that I will not be serialising this story anymore; it will all be one book separated by 4 parts: Creation, Completion, Perfection and Final Admonitions. I promise it'll be better this way!

All the other changes you will see for yourself; I don't want to spoil anything, but the plot has changed quite a bit.

MUSIC!

I'm a very musical person, and I have never written a single word in this story without earphones on, so you may want to know what inspired me, right? Even if you don't care, I will tell you. Why? Because I'm French.

Are you ready?

So, we've got:

1. Anything by Madonna.

This woman can do no wrong, but I listened mostly to Like a Prayer and Erotica when I was writing this; so, if you aren't a fan of Madonna (because everyone's entitled to their opinion, even if it's wrong), bear those two in mind while reading.

2. Back to Black by Amy Winehouse.

This album is literally the soundtrack to this book (especially as we go into the second book).

Frank also worked when I didn't feel like Back to Black.

3. Purple Rain by Prince.

This man could almost do no wrong in my eyes. He's awesome; he was also probably the best musician of the 80s.

4. Norman Fucking Rockwell! by Lana Del Rey (but really, anything from Lana works, too)

5. Bachata Rosa by Juan Luis Guerra.

6. Melodrama by Lorde.

7. Lemonade by Beyoncé.

8. After Hours by The Weeknd.

9. Anti by Rihanna

10. Plastic Hearts by Miley Cyrus.

11. Fine Line by Harry Styles.

12. Happier than Ever by Billie Eilish

13. If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power by Halsey

14. A Crow Looked at Me by Mount Eerie

I don't think he'd be happy to know that this album inspired anything artistic - one of the first things he says in the album is that death shouldn't be turned into art - but I really wanted spectra of this story to feel as uncomfortable as this album, and it did - in fact - inspire me quite a bit. Besides, he won't find out anytime soon that his album inspired some teenager to write a novel on Wattpad.

Note: I'm not putting these here to tell you to listen to them (I mean, you can, but that's not what I'm trying to do). I'm just saying that I took inspiration from each of these and came up with my own thing.

COLOUR US EXCITED!

If you enjoy this story and want to see more of my (hopefully, still, awesome) writing, you will be saddened to learn that I have no other published works. But I am already planning a second novel in this universe, and it will be a story looking at Edward and his entire life story. It will be called Erotica after the Madonna album, and it'll follow a similar story to the album; so, I guess thats something to be excited about.
