Cyanne’s POV
The Academy was beautiful with large flying buttresses and stained glass windows like an ancient cathedral but it held a medieval beauty with a modern beauty all at once, it was an artistic masterpiece. I was not completely done taking in the wonder of it when the Headmistress spoke, “I suppose that you would like to know about your powers based on the Test, now.” This got all of our attention at once. “I will first start with the gentlemen then move to the ladies. Kyle your power that is most prominent is water, Jamison yours was air, and Jeremiah yours was earth. Nyra’s power is over nature, Anise’s is over fire, and Patricia’s is a seer or oracle.”
“What about me, Headmistress?” I wondered aloud to her.
“Ah yes, Cyanne, you are special. You have all elemental aptitude but I suspect you are a witch. Witches have the potential to use all five elements along with the sixth and rarest element. The power of Soul, witches usually choose to continue with one element but a few choose all. I have reason to suspect that the reason your classmates scores were inconclusive was because they were chosen to protect you. I think you are the next heir to the throne of Majick, this would make the other six your council and protectors. Each is a witch with specific powers and strengths. You must learn your powers together or not at all, the latter would be suicide for all of you. You must be friends from this point on or you will all fail. When you have made your decision find me and we will begin your training immediately. Hopefully I will see you all shortly if not enjoy your short miserable life while it lasts.” With that she glided away like a ghost.
“We have to stay if not we could all die”, I pleaded with them. “We need to learn how to control our powers, if not to help me, to help yourself.”
“For the first time in forever, I agree with Cyanne Buttins.” Kyle stated in his pig-headed manner.
“Thanks Kyle, I guess. Though my last name is Battins not Buttins”, I said in an enthusiastic tone.
“I know. I just don’t like you that much butt face.” He stated in a matter of fact tone. This really ticked me off but I had to let it slid because of Headmistress’ warning. “I guess we should get to her office now, shouldn’t we?” With that we headed towards the school and towards our shaky future.
