Too far. Too far.The small scrap of paper in recognizable handwriting shook in Chongyuns trembling hands. The few words it had were enough to shake his carefully trained mind.
"You really thought?"
He was just trying to be a good exorcist. He was just trying to save others from danger.
And yet.
He ended up hurt. Maybe not physically but-
He shuddered and threw the note on the ground.
Chongyun was going to go confront the lying asshole who had the fucking audacity to-
Woah. He pulled out a popsicle and took a small nibble. Chongyun instantly felt more relaxed. Still tense, but better.
He started walking towards the bookstore where he knew that... person would be. He walked with such purpose that the residents of Liyue Harbour were frightened. He left a cold feeling in his wake, making a few children shiver. One even burst out in tears.
He threw down his half-eaten popsicle before climbing up the winding stairs leading to the bookstore.
The familiar blue haired person sat at a table in the corner, reading a large book. It almost completely covered his head, only a little bit of his haired showed.
"Xingqiu."
The boy looked up from his book and gently closed it.
"So? How'd it go?"
How'd it go? How did it go.
"Fuck you Xingqiu."
--
Xingqiu stared up at the cold boy in front of him, seeing his best friend turn fully red. It looked as though he might punch something. Or someone.
Had he gone too far? Were his jokes too much? He stared shocked at the person in front of him. The words that were being yelled were going in one ear and straight out the other, as Xingqiu was consumed by his thoughts.
His thoughts of what he had done to the only friendship he truly couldnt live without.
