Your mom decided it was a brilliant idea to take you to the Playtime Factory for your birthday. You would've liked this idea a lot more if you were still twelve years old. Except, you're eighteen, and it really isn't all that fun anymore. Watching toys being manufactured in a huge ass factory wasn't exactly your cup of tea.

You could respect the workers and the people who actually enjoyed making toys, but you weren't one of those people. Regardless, it would be nice to get out of the house and away from your dad for the day- so, you agreed. Plus, it was pretty cheap and not a far drive from your house.

"Aren't you excited?!" Your mom asked. She was always trying to see the bright side of things, and it got so extreme it got a little overbearing.

"Yeah, mom." you rolled your eyes, and the conversation ceased. You had been to Playtime co. factory before way back when you were seven, so maybe this would be a bit of a nostalgia trip for you.

The parking lot was huge like it always is, and it was packed. Why wouldn't it be? This factory is famous because of the toys they create.

Speaking of toys, you wondered if your favorite huggy wuggy was still as popular as he used to be. You loved the huggable and fluffy toy the most out of all of them.

"Two tickets please," your mother gave a staff member the money for a tour and he told you two to go and wait with the group of people over in the lobby.

"Alright folks, let's start the tour!" A man on the bigger side wearing overalls cheered. If you didn't know any better, you would've said he looked like an off brand santa claus.

You walked down a small hallway and there stood huggy wuggy in all of his glory.  The toy stood at a whopping twelve feet, but you weren't intimidated by him. Yes, his sausage lips made him look a little goofy but he's a child's toy, so you weren't going to complain.

You heard a small child crying and turned to see that he was scared of huggy wuggy. You saw his father try to comfort him the best he could but it wouldn't work. The little boy ran into a corner of the room and his father just looked frustrated.

You walked up to him and he acknowledged you, but continued crying.

"Hey, huggy wuggy won't hurt you. He's fluffy and lovable."

"I don't want him to hug me!" the child was obnoxious no doubt, but you had patience with kids. You put your hand on his small shoulder and rubbed it gently.

"Take deep breaths. Think of huggy wuggy as a blue sour patch kid, yeah? He'll be less scary that way." the kid sniffled and looked back up at huggy wuggy, and surprisingly enough he stopped crying.

"He does look kind of like one..." the kid mumbled.

"See? He's not scary, just goofy." the boy giggled and ran back to his father. Your mother looked at you warmly at the display and the tour continued.

When the tour was over you were allowed to go to the gift shop to pick out a souvenir. As you were looking through the toys you noticed that there was a hiring poster on the wall behind the cash register.

Huh. You might just apply. You need a job anyways- plus they'll probably just put you on janitor duty.

You picked up a small huggy wuggy keychain and brought it up to the cash register. "Hello. I'd like to buy this keychain and apply for a job here." the cashier looked at you like you were crazy but didn't say anything.

Okay. Here's an application. Fill it out when you have the time."

Well, you got the job. Instead of being the janitor like you thought you'd be, you were in charge of taking care of a certain twelve foot toy.

You were supposed to stay by huggy wuggy's side at all times and make sure he stays clean and that no little kids touch him. Strange job, but you got paid well so you weren't going to complain.

Throughout the day you would notice a strange smell coming from the statue; like rotting flesh. And if you looked close enough you could notice that his hair would move, especially around his chest area. He acted almost...alive.

Whatever.

The end of the day came and you had to brush his fur before you left. There was a special brush for huggy wuggy, even though it looked like any old brush. You shrugged and gently brushed his fur as other employees worked around the area cleaning up messes kids made and trash in the vicinity.

As you brushed his hair you hummed his little tune as it was pretty catchy, although a little ominous. If it weren't for the other workers in the room, you would've heard a purring noise. But due to you humming and a coworker nearby using a vacuum you couldn't hear it.

You had to grab a ladder to reach his head to brush him and the rest of his body, and you were careful to not fall over. As you continued to brush his fur you looked at his eyes and saw that it seemed like something was inside them. You leaned over to get a closer look when a coworker called out your name.

"Hey! What're you doing?" you jumped and the ladder ended up wobbling which caused the guy to run over and steady the ladder.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he chuckled. You shrugged before deciding that you would be done with brushing huggy wuggy for today.

"You're good. I need to clock out soon anyways. Have a good night."

The man nodded and watched you leave the building before going back to sweeping in the area by himself.
