2 Weeks Into Marriage.
Giving the photographers a wave Keenan and I walk hand in hand through terminal together as we take out bags from baggage claim in the airport.
Smiling and shaking my head I wrap my arms around his lower back using my hat to hide from the camera's.
The things I have to do.
.
“Mom!” I say hugging her tightly. We were in Georgia, which took a few days to convince Keenan to visit my family. I don’t know what was wrong about it he lived here for most of his life.
“Nora, when we heard you got married we were shocked.” She pulls back to look at me. Keenan stands awkwardly behind her. “Oh, my word.” She looks at Keenan.
“Mrs. Evans.” He attempts to shake her hand but she pulls him into a hug. His eye widened before he smiles and hugs her back.
“Where's dad?” I ask. It feels good to be back home.
“Oh, he is out back with everyone else.” She is almost in tears. “I'll go get them.” She leaves the room.
“Everyone else? Go get them?” Keenan repeats her words.
“Yeah, my brothers, and sisters.” I tell him pointing at the family photo on the wall, he plasters a nervous look on his face.
“How many are there.” He looks at the photo.
“Well,” I begin. “There's, Leah, she is the oldest, Griffin, but he likes to be called Fin. Brian, and Jody… They're twins.” I point to each person in the photo. “That's Kimberly or Kim who went to school with us, and Patrick, the youngest.”
“And you,” He says. “And your mom is still functioning after all of that?”
“Surprisingly.” I tell him walking into the living room.
“How big is this place?” Keenan walks around a bit.
“Almost… ten? Acres.” I say. I remember the faces my parents had when I bought them this ranch.
“Nora!” I see Kim walk into the living room.
“Kim!” I yell hugging her. “How's New York?” She has only been there for almost two years, but talks like she's been living there her entire life.
“Good!” She says. “Is this him?” She walks over to pinch Keenan's face. “He looks cuter then I remember.” Since Kim and I went to the same high school as me, has met Keenan before, she was only a junior while he was a senior, and as for me, I was a freshmen.
