Kennedy sighed as he set the book he was originally reading down on the small coffee table in front of him, standing up from the once vacant couch to move away from everyone who decided to pile on the seat in a drunken state. "Hey Kenny, come over here!" His friend Daniel called out from the kitchen, waving him over to where he stood. "What's up?" Kennedy asked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his pale Pink hoodie. "Dude, you should totally get a drink. This stuff's pretty good!" Daniels face was tinted red, probably caused by all the alcohol he drank, or by the fairly good looking girl standing next to him. "Yeah, no thanks. I'd rather not." He walked away from his disappointed friend. Kennedy didn't have much of an alcohol tolerance, but he'd never admit that to anyone he knew. They would call him a wimp, but he only shrugged every time they brought it up with him. Kennedy spotted a familiar girl amongst the large crowd in the dining room, squeezing past the people he didn't personally know to get to her. "Please don't tell me you're wasted too?" He joked, making her roll her eyes. "Really? Why would I be? I need to be sober to take my dumb little Brother home." "Yeah. He's passed out in the living room, I'm pretty sure." He glanced back out of the archway to halfheartedly search for Sunny's Brother Leon. "I keep telling him not to over-drink, but that idiot never listens to me." She huffed, crossing her arms. "I didn't expect the party to be this loud." "Well you were the one who invited all these people here, in MY house no less." "Oh, please. You'll get over it." "Sun? I think it's time to go." A Man Kennedy did not know spoke up, eyeing him as if he was trespassing. "Right, I'll be there in a minute." He nodded, staring at Kennedy for a few more seconds before exiting the house. "Thanks for giving me absolutely no permission to be here with all these random people, and for tolerating this to an extent." She smiled. "You're welcome?" Sunny giggled, patting his shoulder before going to retrieve her drunk Brother. It wasn't long before everyone started leaving, all the while leaving their mess. Kennedy sighed, picking up a trash bag and a pair of gloves to start cleaning up. "Great. Now I have to clean up other people's messes, and throw up." He scrunched his nose up in pure disgust, picking up empty beer cans and empty wine bottles and throwing them in the bag. 'This is why I shouldn't ever have told Sunny about the spare key.' He thought, tossing used tissues in the bag. It wasn't the first time Sunny had done something like this. She had thrown smaller party's before while Kennedy was out working his part time job, and sometimes went over to scavenge for food or secrets, half the time with the other three. She had no regard for Kennedy's private life, or his permission for anything she wanted to do. It annoyed him, but he still loved being her friend nonetheless. Kennedy gagged a little as he cleaned up bile from the kitchen floor, losing any appetite he might have had. He carried on with his cleaning ritual despite feeling sick to his stomach, finally finishing an hour later. "I do not want any more party's.." He mumbled, flopping down onto his bed with a deep heavy sigh. His phone rang out with a quick short lived "ding", making him focus all his attention on his phone "Marst Sent A Message:" It read. He unlocked his phone, tapping on Marst's contact to reply to his text. "'Sup Kenny. Sorry I couldn't make it, Momma invited my Aunt and Cousins over to stay for a few days." He chuckled a bit, shaking his head. "You're fine. I didn't even want a party at my house in the first place." "Wow. That's Sunny for ya'." "Yup. I think I'm about to head to bed. See you tomorrow, hopefully." "Alright. Sweet dreams Honeybuns~ :D" Kennedy laughed out loud, taking a moment to respond. "You too, Marst." Setting the phone down he closed his eyes slowly, letting his mind wander as sleep crept up on him with such ease.

"KENNY! KENNY GET UP!" Kennedy groaned as he slowly sat up, the banging on his door echoing in his ears on loop. He finally swung the door to his bedroom open, coming face to face with Sunny who had(unsurprisingly)made her way into his house by force. "Wha-" "Cool, don't care-We're meeting up with Marst and Dan in a few at the Diner that opened up a month ago. See you there." "But-" Sunny only ignored him and just skipped out of the house happily, her ponytail bouncing behind her as she skipped. Kennedy sighed as he turned on his heel to head back into his room to put on fresh clean clothes. He opened up the top drawer to his dresser, grabbing a random shirt and doing the same to the other drawer before getting dressed. After getting dressed into a Black T-shirt and some comfortable pants, he left to the living room to slip his shoes on making sure to take his time, and heading down the small hallway leading to the front door. Once he was outside, he took a moment to appreciate the cool fall wind as it caressed his somewhat pale skin. Kennedy pulled himself back to reality and trudged towards his bike and hopped on, taking a mental note of where he needed to go. He wondered how Marst was. He hadn't seen him in a few weeks, and deep down he was excited to see his friend again. Kennedy made it to the Diner they were meeting up at, setting his bike against the wall before looking up at the bright glowing sign hanging securely above the two sliding doors. ""Icy Diner". Huh." He repeated the name. Finally deciding to go inside, Kennedy slid the door open and scanned the main room for his friends, eventually spotting them at a booth in the back corner. "Here goes nothing." He started walking towards them, putting on his best smile as they waved him over. "Hey Ken! Glad you could make it!" Leon greeted, mouth halfway full with what Kennedy would assume was a burger. "Yeah, man, glad you're here." Marst smiled, motioning to the spot beside Leon for him to sit down. "Honestly, I don't think I'd be here if it wasn't for Sunny banging on the door and screaming at the top of her lungs for me to get up." Everyone laughed. "Well it's not my fault you're a heavy sleeper. I was just doing my job!" "She is right though, you do sleep through a LOT of stuff." Daniel added, pointing at Kennedy with his spoon. "What can I say? I just don't get enough sleep." He chuckled. "Hey, try this out," Daniel slid his bowl of soup over to Kennedy along with a spare plastic spoon for him to try. Kennedy looked at the blue-ish soup strangely, hesitantly trying a bit of it as his friend suggested. He paused, struggling to swallow the liquid he was forced to consume. "Blech-Why is it thick?" He asked, sliding the bowl back over to Dan. "Haha, I don't know." He laughed. "Why didn't you tell me then?" "It's more fun this way." Daniel shrugged, purposefully slurping the soup as he made eye contact with Kennedy. "Will you stop that? You're so annoying and gross." Sunny spoke, slightly glaring at Daniel as he sat there with a prideful smile. "So, Ken, what've you been up to?" Leon asked, wiggling around a fry out of boredom. "Not much, really. I've just been surviving. We should really ask what Marst has been up to. We haven't seen him in a while, after all." Leon shook his head. "No. Only you and Danny haven't seen him, me and Sunny kept in touch quite often." He smiled innocently. "Okay..I guess I'll tell you guys? My Aunt and Cousins are staying over for a few days, y'know, because my Aunt got a divorce. So, Momma's been telling me to get something special for her to make her feel better. But I don't really know what she likes, exactly." Marst explained, leaning back with his hands behind his head. "Maybe you should get her...A..Card?" Daniel suggested with a shrug. "No, that's far too simple for a Woman who just got a divorce. You should get her a nice beauty kit, and maybe a bath set if you think she'd prefer that more." Sunny said, feeling confident in her answer. Marst looked to Kennedy for a split second before replying to her. "Uhm..Yeah, I'll..Think about it. Anyways, have you guys seen the news?" Kennedy furrowed his eyebrows. "Marst, I don't think anybody here watches the news." "But hear me out," He leaned in, looking around to make sure nobody was listening. "You know that creepy building out East?" Everyone else leaned in as well, now interested in what he had to say. "Yeah, what about it?" Daniel asked. "Apparently, these two Guards went to start their first day on the Night shift, but they never came back out." He said. "What do you think happened?" Sunny asked, looking over at Kennedy. "I don't know. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation." "Wait, the old building out East?" Leon questioned curiously. "Yeah." Marst nodded, confirming the question that was asked. "That's that children's Pizzeria from eleven years ago." "What?" Daniel was confused. "Oh yeah. What was its name again?" Kennedy dug deep into the back of his mind to remember the name he had seen a few times many years ago, but everything came up blank. "Why'd you bring this up anyways?" "Well," Marst started to grin. "I wanted to go there." "Are you serious? What about what happened to those Guards? That could happen to us too!" Sunny exclaimed rather loudly, being hushed immediately. "It's fine. There's more of us in a group, and we'll be more careful." Kennedy noted the look of concern on Sunny's face, mainly being masked by anger. "What do you guys say? You wanna go?" The three exchanged worried glances before finally giving in and agreeing. "Alright! We'll all meet up tonight at eight." "Today? Are you crazy?" Daniel inputted his own opinion on this "adventure". "Not crazy enough to not go there. Come on, guys. We'll just be there to explore a bit, and then we'll come back home. Simple." "Whatever. But if anything happens, I'm putting all the blame on you, Marst." Sunny glared, standing up from her seat. "Anyways, we all should get home now if we're doing this. See you three tonight." She grabbed Leon's hand as she waved, walking out to her car with her Brother in tow. "What about you Kennedy?" Marst grabbed his attention. "Huh?" "What do you think?" Kennedy paused, looking down at the table as if it'd answer for him. "I'm not so sure. What if there really is danger there? What would happen to us? Leon and Sunny's Parents would be so worried about them, and I'm sure your Mother would have a heart attack from worrying too much about you. What would happen then?" Marst understood what Kennedy was trying to get at, but his decision was not wavered. "It'll be fine, Kenny. I'll bring some stuff with me to make you feel a bit better, so don't worry." He smiled reassuringly. "Right. See you later." Kennedy stood up, walking out of the Diner and hopping on his bike to venture home. This plan was absolutely crazy, but Marst had always had these crazy and dumb ideas ever since middle school. Even in his twenties he still makes some not-so-smart decisions, but he always makes it out somehow. When Kennedy got home, he just decided to lounge around, patiently waiting for the time to come where he was to leave. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. All these scenarios playing through his head on repeat like it was taunting him. He didn't really like the idea, and the more he thought about it, the more he disliked it.
