I woke up the next morning feeling like I was in some kind of Disney movie. The light was shining in through my windows, the birds were chirping, and I was the happiest I had ever been. I got dressed in a short skirt, knowing full well that this would trigger Billy when he saw me.

I made my way to school in MY car and blasted out Psycho Killer by Talking Heads, just for shits and giggles. This did result in a couple of disgusted looks, which I revelled in.
When I got to school, there was a circus of media vans outside. I pulled up in my usual spot and started walking towards the school, before bumping into miss perfect, Sydney.
Ugh!
"Hey Ellie. Do you know what's going on?" She asked, very visibly confused.
"Not a clue." I lied, shaking my head.
Tatum arrived from behind us.
"Do you believe this shit?"
"Tatum! What is going on?" Sydney asked Tatum, who looked at us both. I shrugged my shoulders to indicate that I didn't know what happened either.
"You don't know? Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night."
"What? No way." Sydney says, as I just gasp.
"And we're not just talking killed, guys. We're talking splatter movie killed - ripped open end to end."
I stayed quiet - listening.
"Casey Becker? She sits next to me in English." Sydney said.
"Not anymore. It's so sad. Her mom and dad found her hanging from a tree. Her insides on the outside."
Nice touch, Stu.
"Oh my god! Do they know who did it?"
"Fucking clueless - I mean they're interrogating the entire school. Teacher, students, janitors..."
"They think it's school-related?" I chimed in.
"They don't know. I mean, Dewey was saying this is the worst crime they've seen in years. Even worse than..." she paused, she was definitely going to mention Sydney's mom. "Well it's bad."

Later on in the day, when most of the school had been interviewed, including myself, Billy, Sydney, Stu, Tatum, Randy and I were all hanging out by the school fountain during our lunch. The five of them were all siting along the fountain, where as I was laying on the pathway, my back on the ground, staring at the clouds.
I may or may not had just smoked a joint before meeting them.
On the fountain, I could hear them all talking about the different questions the cops had asked. I couldn't be bothered to listen properly though. Not until Sydney piped up.
"Hey, El? Didn't you used to date Steve? And Stu? You used to date Casey, right?"
All I did was look at her, not saying a word. Luckily, Stu spoke, taking the attention off of me. I looked back up at the sky.
"Yeah, for like two seconds."
"Before she dumped him for Steve." Randy said.
"I thought you dumped her for me." Tatum said, shocked.
"I did. He's full of shit."
"And are the police aware you dated the victim?"
"What are you saying? That I killed her?" Stu said, offended.
"It would certainly improve your high school Q."
"Stu was with me last night, okay?" Tatum chimed in.
"Was that before or after he sliced and diced."
I snorted at this, resulting in a couple of looks.
"Fuck you, nut case. Where were you last night?" Tatum said.
"Working, thank you."
"At the video store? I thought they fired your ass." I say, glancing at Randy from the ground.
"Twice." He answered, grinning and popping a grape into his mouth.
"I didn't kill anybody." Stu blurted out.
Shut it, Stu!
"Nobody said you did." I could hear the annoyance in Billy's voice and I looked over to him, just as he turned his head to look at me, rolling his eyes. He looked down to my legs and back up to my face and smirked at me. I looked away and smiled at the sky.
"Besides-" Randy begins to mock Stu. "It takes a man to do something like that."
"I'm gonna gut your ass in a second, kid."
"Tell me something - Did you really put her liver in the mailbox? 'Cause I hear they found her liver in the mailbox, next to her spleen and her pancreas." Randy said in a weird, creepy voice.
"Randy, you goon-fuck, I'm trying to eating here." Tatum says.
"Yeah she's getting mad, Rand. You better liver alone." Stu laughs at this own joke, and I start laughing a little as well, before Sydney gets up and leaves.
Bye, bitch.
"Liver alone." Stu carries on laughing, before Billy smacks him.
"Ow! Liver. Liver. Liv - it was a joke."
"I thought it was funny, Stu."
"Thank you, El."
I see Tatum roll her eyes.
Bitch.

After school, Billy came over to mine.
Tonight, him and Stu were going to scare Sydney, because, unfortunately, she was still a virgin, so couldn't be killed yet.
Stu was going to come and pick Billy up from mine. The plan was also that Sydney would suspect him as the killer when she saw he had a cellular phone.
I wasn't the least bit happy with this. The idea of Billy being in a cell over night was awful, even if it was just for one night to throw everyone off guard.
It was almost time for Stu to pick up Billy and we were both lying in my bed, naked. I was lying my head on his chest, with my hand on his chest. His arm was around my shoulders, whilst his other hand was resting on my hand.
"Do you really have to do this?" I whispered.
"You know I do, El. It's the only way to make sure they don't suspect me later on." He answered, kissing the top of my head. I move my head to look at him, resting my chin on his chest.
"I'll be fine, El. I promise." He said, seeing the worried look on my face, and kissing me on the nose. I smile and kiss him deeply, as I start to climb on top of him, for the third time that evening.
Knock. Knock.
We both moan in annoyance.
"That'll be Stu." He said, pecking me on the lips, and getting up. I stayed in the bed, watching him put on his clothes.
"Be careful, okay?" I say, sitting up.
"I will." He comes over and pecks me on the lips again, stroking my cheek, "I love you."
"I love you too."
