I added a cast to this; I know that Demi may not have 'bright blue eyes' but I wanted to show that Adelaide kind of looked like that... same with all of the others. :)

*Luke*

"Dude," Jacob laughs, lightly punching my arm causing me to turn my gaze from Adelaide to the hyper brunette I'd come to know, "Stop staring at the Smith girl." I rolled my eyes and rested my elbows back onto the metal table we were sitting at. Usually, Jacob and I sat out here and ate instead of eating in the cafeteria nowadays; we didn't really feel like getting the stares from people that didn't necessarily enjoy our company. Now, for some reason, that people found out were we hang out, they started hanging out here after lunch. Adelaide and her two friends just happened to be one of them, but they hang out more around the alleyway where the school and the cafeteria break.

It's funny, despite everything I told her I would do at the 'dinner party' three weeks ago, how I don't really speak to Adelaide. Yet, I knew a lot about her. More than I should, I laughed to myself. She was an interesting girl, though. She makes everyone around her feel better about themselves; her smile can light up a dark room. Her presence made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Even though, as much as I hated to admit it, she had this ora about her that just screamed 'Stay away, this girl has issues', I wanted to get to know her.. Try and figure out why she looked so lonely even when people were around her, smiling and laughing, or why she always wore those longsleeve shirts even in 80 degree weather.

"I'm not staring, 'Bro', just..observing." I responded to Jacob's raised eyebrow with a shrug and he just shook his head and, lucky for me, didn't continue with the topic.

I looked back at the direction where she was and suddenly she looked up, our gazes locking. Her bright blue eyes widened in suprise as she realized what I had been doing. A slight blush crept onto her cheeks but she didn't look away. My lips grew into a grin after I winked at her and her mouth turned into an 'O' of suprise. Her friend, Meri I believe is her name, turned to see what her friend happened to be staring at and when she saw me she sharply turned back to Adelaide and suddenly the conversation grew heated. And as if I was the reason, Adelaide looked to me and suddenly stormed away from her friend and deeper into the alleyway.

"Aren't you going to follow her?" Jacob asked casually and took a bite of his apple. I thought for a second, biting my lower lip.

With all the rumors going around about me, I couldn't quite blame Meri for getting in a fight with Adelaide for even looking at me. So far, I'd found that I was a murderer, in Juvi for three years, and I had tried to rape a 15 year old girl...

Really, I don't know how anyone came up with that last one because, even if I wouldn't admit it, I hadn't had a girlfriend before. I mean, sure I had one night stands in my old town, but they had never became anything more special than that. Although, no one knew that. The closest thing I had to a friend here was Jacob and to be honest, I don't know why he became friends with me.

He just had walked up to me one day, saying. "Do you have anyone to sit with?" And suddenly he was my friend. I had been to his house twice and met his dad..pretty nice guy.. I hadn't met his mom yet, though..

"Dude!" Jacob waved a hand in front of my face and I was yanked back into reality.

"Hum, oh yeah, okay." I quickly stood up and as I began to walk a though struck me.

What if Adelaide was scared of me and that was why she wasn't attempting to speak to me..

No, I told myself, You've had just as much a chance as she has to talk to you. You just haven't taken the chance.

But I was going to now, that was for certain..

Very short chapter ._. well, I mean, no one reads so it's not like it's going to matter anyway :D SO yay
