Mystery

CHAPTER ONE

The sun is peaking past the trees but I'm more concerned with my rambling stomach, hours have passed here out in the forest and we've not been lucky yet to haunt anything.
It's been exactly twelve days down on this realm earth  since we teleported from our realm Izip.

I'm starting to think that's it's a bad idea that we came to a realm i thought we had reserched enough, but it is proving difficult to adapt than I thought.

Looking at Ora, I take in the way his eyes are looking around in concetration as he tags at his hair a sign that he is nervous though he doesn't want me to notice... but then again I'm the more observant one between us.

"Hey Bess,what are we going to do now? Should we just abort the mission and go back to our realm?"

"Come on Rio, we are considered the best of Izip and once we have been entrusted with a mission,it's our duty to make sure it has been accomplished."
I take a deep breath because the way he spoke to me with his eyes set on me,there's no room for argument or changing his mind.

As much as we are from the same realm,he is of the species with a curse of feeding from leaves and fruits while my species feeds from emotions to satisfy us for a period as long as a year.

It's difficult to feed from his emotions because once a being becomes important to us or if my species consider a being a close allie then a wall is built to shut us out of their emotions.

It was easier to feed on our realm because there are many species to feed from who have a strong stamina unlike this realm earth where I tried to sneak spiritually into a human but the emotions it was emitting were so negative but being hungry made me succumb to it regardless and after few minutes of feeding,I felt the angel of death lurking which meant I won't feed on human beings anymore they're weak.

"Are you okay?" Ora touches my arm bringing me out of my thoughts before they run wild..."I'm okay just starving and I don't know if hunting an animal will sedate my hunger as much as emotions do."

"You'll be fine, I promise," Ora tries to tell me but I give him a murderous look that shuts him up immediately,how dare he make a promise that he's going to break?
"Why give me temporary comfort that will lead to a permanent distraction?"
We are no longer kids Ora,I'll look for a way to survive or I'll have to go back to our realm.

I hear other hunters nearing where we are and I put my guide up because only Rao can see my troubled soul.

"At last you're all set, we will head north from here and in case of any ambush,let's stick together. Blue do your thing and mask our scents," his species are known for masking scents. Ora goes on about the instructions we are to follow since he is the leader of our troop, he looks at me but I cast my eyes on the ground so he cannot see that my eyes have started turning milky white due to my starvation.

As the rest of the group starts walking,I make sure to be the last one on the troop.
