We try so hard
fitting in
while pushing against
the rules
and the walls
that cage us in
Parents lecture
kids laugh
and we cause havoc
attempt to stop
the chatter
the lies
and the laws
they tell us
that we cannot
do this
we cannot
do that
enough is enough
too many lies
too many laws
make a world of our own
one that smells like freedom
and smoke
one that feels like freedom
and dreams
we can never return
to our old lives
so with our hollowed out heads
I'll live in a hologram with you
