Chapter 3 - a late night worry

For a few years Anna is now 12 and she still watches Sonic from a far and also feel free. Late at night Anna would sneak out of her Aunt's house and watch Sonic playing alone. She wished that she can play with him and race with him. No one in the neighborhood wanted to race or play with her due to her being a girl. She had Felix but it's different cause Anna knows a boy like Felix doesn't race. Though there was something about him made her feel safe. Though when the day came that Sonic was discovered her time watching him crumbled in front of her eyes. She wished she could help him but unfortunately she couldn't. One night after Sonic and Tom had left to go to Chicago. Anna woke up and went to the forest. Though she was unaware that her brother followed. Anna followed the usual path and whispered to herself, "It's so odd. He has a really amazing gift to run fast. If anything I think he make a great hero." She giggled playfully a little before hearing someone behind her. She gasped and sees Rolland behind her. Roland said, "Sister. Don't you know it's late?" Anna took a deep breath and said a little stern, "Good stars above Rolland don't scare me like that." Rolland then said, "I'm sorry Anna. But you have been sneaking out at night." Anna then said, "I go out for late night walks brother. It's soothing. Plus you know that hedgehog looking fellow?" Rolland nodded before Anna confessed she knew about it all along. Rolland asked, "Why didn't you tell me?" Anna replied a little down, "Cause no one believes me just like no one believes me about the monsters when I was a child." Rolland replied trying to cheer her sister up, "I believe you about them sister." Anna smiled a little before Rolland asked, "Listen I know you like late night walks now but aren't you scared that the monsters will come again?" Anna shook her head and said, "No. they haven't showed up since before the accident." Roland shrugged before Anna asked as they stopped, "Do you think he's okay Rolland?" Rolland didn't reply though she had a sad expression on his face. Looking at his big sister. Then a familiar voice said, "I'm sure he's okay Anna." Anna and Rolland turn to see Felix walking towards them. Anna turned to the sky and said, "Oh... Felix. You knew?" Felix then said, "Yes. I did. Look I wouldn't worry about he will be okay." Anna felt his hand on her shoulder and said, "You given me so much hope as much as Roland does. But your hope is strangely. Beautiful." Felix smiled at her as Anna turned to him and smiled back. They were unaware that they were watched by Kayla McDaniels. She scowled at them and said to herself, "Ugh. So she sees monsters too? Hmph! Doesn't she know that this maybe a sign? What a naive girl. Anna Evergreen you are a complete and naive little fool."
