(This could've been better but my phone was like 10% while writing this so I had to charge it in the middle lol. I'll edit this at some point.)

Roxas opened his eyes, finding himself lying on the ground. He slowly sat up, looking at his surroundings. It appeared he was in Twilight Town.

'What am I doing here?'

The last thing he remembered was looking for someone...and then falling?

Or-

He stood up, a hand on his head, a little disoriented. He saw a girl on her knees with black hair and blue eyes like his own and staggered over to her. He's seen her before...or maybe it was someone else?

"Who are you...again? It's weird...I feel like I'm forgetting something really important."

Yes...he has seen her before. But what is it he's forgetting? Just then the girl spoke.

"You'll be...better off now...Roxas."

She knows his name? He caught her so she didn't hit the ground. Is she okay? Did someone hurt her or something?

Was it...him?

"Am I...the one who did this to you?" He asked while watching little bits of light rise into the sky, then looked back at her. He didn't mean to, didn't want to, but he had no choice. He felt...guilty.

"No. It was my choice...to go away now."

It wasn't him? That made him feel a little relieved, but sad....and, go away? But where would she go away to? And why? He didn't understand...

"Better that, than to do nothing...and let Xemnas have his way."

So Xemnas was the one who did this to her? Finally something that...slightly made sense today.

"I belong with Sora. And now, I am going back...to be with him."

What? Sora? No she doesn't! She belongs with them, eating ice cream and doing stupid stuff together! Not Sora! Why should she belong with a stranger?!

"Roxas...I need you...to do me a favor."

A favor? Of course, he'll do anything for her, but...didn't they just meet? What was that stuff about ice cream earlier? He was so confused, sad, and angry all at once. Why was he feeling these things? He wasn't supposed to...

"All those hearts that I've *captured...Kingdom Hearts...set them free."

"Kingdom Hearts...free them?" Why was she asking him to-

His eyes widened as he looked at her shoes, *crystal starting to cover her body. Is that what she meant by go away?

"It's too late...for me to undo my mistakes. But you can't let Xemnas...have Kingdom Hearts. You can't."

And he won't! He's gonna make sure that Kingdom Hearts gets set free, at all costs.

"Goodbye, Roxas. See you again. I'm glad I got to meet you."

Goodbye? No wait, she can't go yet! They still have things to talk about and stories to share! And they haven't gone to the beach yet like they promised!

"Oh...and of course, Axel, too. You're both my best friends."

'You're my best friend too...'

"Never forget...that's the truth."

'...Xion.'

Xion? Where did that name come from-? His eyes widened as he caught her hand that slid off his cheek. "No!"

He remembered now. How could he forget Xion, one of his best friends, like that?

"Xion...who else will I have ice cream with?"

There was no response from her as the light traveled up her body and and covered her, evaporating into the sky as he watched.

He looked down and saw a shell, picking it up with his fingers. Her smiling face appeared in his mind and he let a tear fall from his eye.

"Xion..."

He'll set Kingdom Hearts free...for her. Then maybe they can all be happy.

(Notes:

1: I couldn't remember if it was captured or gathered, but either of those would work I suppose.

2: I didn't know what that was (crystals made of light or something?) so I kept switching back and forth. Sorry if that annoyed anyone.)
