Silence.

It's complete and utter silence as me and my brother take in the fact that I'm being forced against my will to marry Leonardo.

I'm engaged.

I look at my father and see a slight smile on his face. Trying to reassure me and tell me that everything will be fine. Nothing about this is fine.

Wait, if I'm marrying Leonardo, then that means...

"Stephen, you are officially my heir," my father says. My body fills with anger as I watch my father turn towards Stephen with a proud smile on his face. Stephen looks shocked as he stares into an empty blank space.

"No," is all he manages to say.

I watch as his eyes look towards me and his whole body tenses.

The same way it did when we found out mamma died.

"I'm not marrying him," I say. "I'm 19, a grown fucking woman. You have no control over what I can and cannot do."

"Well, now I don't, but he does," my father says as he points towards Leonardo who has a stupid smirk on his face.

I laugh.

He really thinks I'm gonna let this motherfucker have some type of control over me?

"No one has any control over me."

"Except me, bellissima, I'm your fiancé," he says with a shit eating grin plastered on his face.

"Fuck you," I spit at him. "And fuck you too. You're fucking pathetic," I spit at my father as I stand up out of my seat.

Then a stinging sensation hits my cheek and my head whips to left.

He slapped me.

My father just fucking slapped me.

I watch as Leonardo and Stephen stand up, both reaching for guns but freeze once I pull out my pocket knife and bring it to my father's throat.

"You don't have the balls to kill me, mia figlia," he taunts.
