A pair of eyes fluttered open ever so slowly under the falling white snow. As you slowly regain your sense of awareness, a feeling of piercing cold seethes into your seemingly rusty shell, making it tremble and shake.

You tried moving your body but as if you had been laying on that same spot for no-one-knows how long, you couldn't— like an ancient fossil. Your effort exerted to lift your limbs has been deemed useless.

The dark skies that seemed hazed by the snow fall was a scenery all too foreign for you. With nothing to recall, nor nothing to remember, you only felt the stinging cold as you kept on laying on the ground. The intense frost was slowly numbing you and your lips and mouth felt too chapped and dried up to your liking.

You wondered about the unfamiliar scene in front of you. You could only see the thick snow, slowly but surely piling up on top of your cold, shivering body. Just like a deep abyss, you can only feel that weird sense of emptiness inside you through and through. Other than that, there was only drowsiness.

As unnatural as it could be, you couldn't even bring yourself to conjure up a simple line of thought. Like a newly created machine, you were just aware of your existence in this point of time and space. You can only acknowledge the fact that as soon as you gained your consciousness, the truth that just as fast as it happened, the sooner you were to arrive in front of Death's door because of the blizzard.

You squinted your eyes through the haziness above you—from where falling snow came from. You had no idea where you were however, you strangely lacked the desire to find out details about your current predicament.

You were just there. A consciousness under a harsh-blowing snowy landscape.

Just when you were thinking of closing your eyes and succumbing to that heavy feeling of lethargy, you heard multiple footsteps approaching the spot where you were laying down. The sound of the snow getting crushed under the soles of their footwear was crispier than you thought it would be.

"Oh? What do we have here?" When their movements stopped just beside you, a deep voice resonated. While struggling to open your eyes, your dark orbs met three strangers looking at you.

The group was clearly unusual. You could see elements of their clothing matching each other albeit different color and designs. You couldn't make out clearly if it was their real faces or if they were wearing a mask. Their eyes which were glowing strangely, surely could make an unforgettable impression to anyone.

"A lass. Buried under the snow." The roundest of them, wearing something like a tank that seemed to contain water, said. You'd know in the far future that he is a Fatui Hydrogunner Legionnaire. You just blinked slowly, the snow weighing down on your lashes as you struggled to keep your eyes open.

The red-clothed stranger holding a long gun raised an eyebrow. "What an unusual find. Dragonspine sure is full of...," the Fatui Pyroslinger Bracer trailed off before wearing a small smile on lips.

"Surprises?," continued the Fatui Geochanter Bracer holding an unusual staff.

And the round one comments, "That might be true. To an extent, yes."

You never made any attempt to struggle and break free as the rounded fellow scooped you out of the snow and lifted you out with his hands placed under your armpits as he could see that you were weakly shivering.

Three seconds after that, he immediately slings you onto his right shoulder like a sack of rice. With clear and crisp sounding footsteps, they started heading back to the direction where they came from. You felt the drowsiness kick back and you fell asleep being carried just like that.

They brought you into their tent and placed you near their campfire. The cold you felt started to subside and your shivering was significantly lessened. They put you down on the ground and buried you in a pile of thick blankets.

"Hmm?. The Adventurer's Guild sent a kid like this in this godforsaken place?." At that moment, they all looked at the harsh blowing of the snow outside.

"Just a bit more and she'd turn into a frozen meat. Haha~." The rounded fellow laughed.

The man holding the staff shakes his head and the other one with the gun smacks the back of the laughing guy's head lightly, immediately ending his inappropriate snorts and chuckles.

Well. What was so funny about someone freezing to death?

In synch after that, they turned their head towards you and assessed you entirely. Your eyes were in the shade of [eye color] and your hair was [hair color]. When taken a look at closely, the strands seemed to almost start shining in strings of white highlights.

"There's no way we can keep her right?" The Fatui Pyroslinger Bracer blurts out, a layer of cloud escaping his breath.

"You're were thinking of keeping her??!" The Fatui Geochanter Bracer halts his restless steps, looking at his comrades in shock. The other two turned to look back at him. An ensuing silence followed and the three of them just stood there, looking at each other, dumbfounded and all confused.

"Huh?. Then why would you carry her back to the camp then??!" The Pyroslinger yells as his face warps into a frowning one.

"Uhh.." The Hydrogunner Legionnaire got his tongue-tied.

"Idiot." The Pyroslinger Bracer smirks in mockery.

"Well, why didn't you remind me that we can't bring her back to the camp?" The Hydrogunner mumbles under his breath, feeling wronged.

"Well, she looks pitiful. It's fine. I mean, we wouldn't want her to die right?" The Geochanter sighs.

His comrades fell silent, silently agreeing to what he said. As a Fatui Member, they weren't supposed to move outside of their missions and ordered tasks. Bringing an unrelated person to the camp was basically asking for a harsh punishment.

"Well, once she's better, we can just chase her out."
The Pyroslinger whispers softly as the howling of the blizzard continues.
