Falian, Humanity's Companion

Slowly the world began to take shape, and slowly I woke up to being inside a cold metal room, devoid of any humans or my creator. 'Where is this? I was implanted with the memory of my creator, but where are they?' My ears suddenly perked on top of my head, and I peeked out of this keyhole in the door, seeing the only active cryostasis pod open. 'I should go check it out, but first clothes.' Looking around I found a sweater, skirt, tights, shoes and hat. So I quickly dressed and hid my tail while I was at it with my ears, can't have whoever was in that pod freaking out after all, "What the..? Oh my god..." I heard them say making me somewhat worried.

'Here goes nothing.' I swallowed but slipped out of the room, "Hello." I greeted, and he was surprised to see someone besides himself, "What is your name?" He eyed me suspiciously, but still replied, "Nate. You are?" I smiled, "Hello, my name is Falian. I'm humanity's companion." He seemed confused until I asked, "Are you leaving? May I come along? I need to find my creator, they were supposed to be here with me." Nate seemed to not like the idea, but he still considered the idea, facing me again he said, "Okay, just keep close. I have no idea what's out there anymore."

"I'm ready for anything." She asserted as he eyed her outfit:

"I doubt that." He mumbled as they exited the vault together, well after fighting a few radroaches and getting a gun, as she gazed upon the ruined land so did her temporary ally who gasped in shock. "Wow, the land sure has changed from the nuclear fallout. My creator was right, humans really did screw everything up!" Nate wondered how she could say that with a straight face, but then he wondered what she meant by, "humans really did screw everything up".

'What is up with this girl?' He wondered, as they wandered back into his old neighborhood, "Hmm, so this is the Sanctuary my creator told me about before putting me to sleep." She gazed around, and eyed the buildings with curiosity, "It must've been quite the sight to behold back before the bombs." Her cheery disposition may have been off putting to Nate, but it was also a welcome distraction from the turn of events he had gone through.

"Is that your Mr. Handy?" She asked as a robot approached them, "Codsworth?" Nate asked and his robotic friend replied, "Well of course I'm still here. Surely you didn't think a little radiation could deter the pride of General Atomics International?" Falian was confused as he asked her, "Where is the mrs by the way, and who is this?" Falian smiled, "Greetings Codsworth, my name is Falian. I'm humanity's companion." Nate suddenly asked, "What does that mean, exactly?"

Falian contemplated then responded, "The command that was implanted within me that activated upon my awakening was: Be humanity's companion. I am simply stating my directive and now I'm trying to understand what it means." Nate didn't understand anything this girl was saying, but nevertheless, headed to Concord with her where they were attacked by mutated feral creatures. "These were...people." Falian told Nate, who was still reeling with adrenaline from the attack, "People? Those things?" He breathed, "What the hell happened to them?"
