"Dr. Riddhima jaisi characterless ladki maine aaj tak nahi dekhi," a woman dressed in pink scrubs told her audience, all of whom were gathered in a cafeteria.

"Pehle toh khud hi Dr. Siddhant ke saath itna sab kiya, lekin phir jab hospital mein yeh baat spread hui, toh unpar rape ka jhootha ilzaam laga diya!" She continued.

"Kya? Unka affair tha?" Another woman asked.

"Aur nahi toh kya!" A third answered. "Tumne woh saari photos nahi dekhi jisme woh aur Dr. Siddhant ek hi bed par... Cheee! Mujhe toh bolne mein bhi sharam aati hai."

"Lekin woh toh shaadi shuda haina?" Someone asked.

"Haan, bhai. Kehne ko toh hai. Lekin, unka pati? Woh toh unhe 10 mahine pehle hi chodke chala gaya. Unki shaadi ko toh hafta bhi poora nahi hua tha tab," a man answered.

"Zaroor unke pati ko Dr. Riddhima ka asli roop samajh aa gaya hoga. Tabhi toh usse chodke chale gaye! Unki toh zindagi barbaad hone se bach gayi. Lekin ab, Dr. Sid ko uska jurmana bhugatna pad raha hai," another commented.

Dr. Shashank listened to all the taunts with tears in his eyes, his bowed deeply in shame. He'd failed his daughter, yet again. The one person he loved most in the world was suffering so much, and yet, here he sat, listening to it all, like a porcelain doll. But, no more. This had to end. His Riddhima would not become the topic of such unhealthy gossip in the walls of the hospital she called home.

No. She would smile again, live again. Be happy again. It was time for her husband to come home.
