Clanners; Alas
Untouchables.
It was a word that I had heard in so many ancient stories that the clanners had told over time, and although I wasn't there to experience such a catastrophe the word itself forced cold chills upon my skin.
"You must be mistaken," Lilly says smugly, and as my gaze falls upon her baby-face, I could already identify the lines beginning to appear in her soft toned skin visibly. Over the subject, she had obviously grown a bit tense over it, as did everybody else in the room. Her hair was a light blonde, falling at shoulder's length which disguised most the expression on her face. Her blue eyes seemed to go dull as the patrolman shook his head in refusal, "I know who I saw, I could never forget their faces ma'am."
I was still getting used to everyone's appearance, they were all young, not very young but to a point they were in their later teens; the youngest in the whole facility was probably six or seven ranging up to the twenties and more.
I felt a bit out on this topic, I didn't know much about it considering I was just a rogue living among them, but lately they had accepted me as if I were somehow part of each clan, family.
Frankly, I wasn't for war and insults, if anything I'd be on the sidelines giving a Martin Luther King Jr speech about how we were all equals and peace should be within the hearts of each of us.
Yeah, that was about it.
If not I'd be on the sidelines shoving posters in the air that read world peace which would probably only get me killed.
Maybe I could ask the kids in the nursery to draw a whole bunch of posters for me-
"Alas," Shawn's voice interrupted my brilliance in effort to get my attention.
"Yes?" I ask, my face going expressionless just in case Shawn had some kind of super human power that could read my mind.
"I need you to go to the empty territory, ask around and see if the rogues and loners would be willing to help out with securing the perimeter, keeping an eye out."
"Now?"
"No, here when this meeting is over."
Nodding, I directed my attention towards the meeting, trying to feed on in what they were saying.
"Pretty scary, huh?" Jayden says silently under her breath, inching towards me to keep quiet.
"Untouchables?" I say.
"Yeah," She says trailing off, and quickly I try and pay attention but I can't help but notice something inching and tracing it's way down my arm and to my hand.
Looking down, I see Jayden's hand making it's way to mine, and within seconds she had taken control and her fingers were enter twined with mine forcibly.
Tugging slightly to get away, she encloses her grip tightly around mine, securing it.
"I like men!" I call out in panic, and slowly I begin to process that the whole room had gone silent, chairs spinning around and facing me in shock.
I don't think it was because I just came out of the closet in the middle of a convocation, but I had interrupted them with my outburst.
I could feel the crimson creeping over my cheeks in embarrassment, and as I looked to my right I saw the door cracked open to a point I could get out.
My eyes remained locked with the people surrounding me, but my feet were doing the cupid shuffle to the door, and then I was gone.
