I awoke to a blinding beam of sunlight peaking through the curtains of mine and my girlfriends bedroom , quickly causing me to squeeze my eyes shut and turn the other way .

I rolled over and reached my arms out , usually to hug my girlfriend Mina , however when i was met with a cold bed , i frowned and opened my eyes to see the empty space.

Thats when it hit me , Wilhemina was probably working early . She had grown quite fond of her work , she's spoke to me a lot about working longer hours as if she doesn't already over work enough. Im guessing today she finally decided to do it.

However for me this ruined my entire mood , i hardly got to see her as it is , now with these extra hours , i'm never going to get to spend time with her .

I pondered over my worries for a little before i groggily slid out of bed , slipping on my silk dressing gown and some fluffy socks . I made my way to the en suite bathroom we had , brushing out my hair and my teeth before splashing my face with cold water .

I trudged out of the bedroom , towards Minas office , before entering i made sure to knock lightly .

I walked in and there she was , her hair slung into a pristine high pony tail , her purple outfit matching with her purple laptop . She was concentrating hard on something when she looked up and a small smile spread across her face when she saw me .

"baby , what are you doing up so early ?" she said .

"i couldn't sleep without you there" i mumbled , feeling slightly ashamed to be so clingy.

She just lightly chuckled to herself and motioned for me to come over , i shyly walked over to her chair and watched over her shoulder.

"do you have to do the extra hours ?" i whined and fidgeted with my fingers .

"darling you know how passionate i am about my work life" she responded .

"bu- its just that i barely got to see you before and now , i'm scared ill never get to spend time with you" i muttered in fear of being shut down .

"oh honey" she pushed her chair slightly away from the desk and patted her lap , signalling for me to sit .

My face lit up with joy , it was very rare Mina let me sit on her lap , it was one of my favourite things but she never really let me .

I climbed onto her lap , straddling her and wrapping my arms around her waist underneath hers .

"i know your craving more attention darling , i'm sorry i haven't been able to give you much .. how about you sit here with me while i work , you need the extra sleep as well" she hushed in my ear while rubbing circles on my back .

"really ? i'm allowed" i beamed .
She smiled and gave me a short nod .
I rested my head on her shoulder , relaxing my body into her touch . With one hand , she worked and with the other , she drew patterns on my back softly .
I was so out of it , that without thinking , i brought my hand to the back of her head and ran my fingers through her red ponytail .

She inhaled sharply and turned her head towards me , signalling to stop .

I took the hint and simply just buried my head into the crook of her neck while listening to the sound of her typing on her purple laptop.
I smiled to myself and gave her a soft kiss on her neck . I couldn't help but want attention , Mina always overworks , shes always ahead of her work , so surely she can take a quick break for me , right ?

Neck kisses drove her crazy , always have , always will.
"y/n" her sharp voice uttered .

"hm"

"i have to work" she said in between small breaths .

"Mina you've worked an awful lot this week , i think you should take a break" i smiled innocently at her.

she gave me a stern look , analysing my face , her thoughts so clearly trying to decide what to do .
"fine." she finally said , causing me to crack a smile .
