Like any other morning, I was out on the beach jogging. Pretty straight forward and boring as it sounds. It's just become a routine since I have nothing else better to do except go to school of course. But that's ages away, another two or three weeks... lost track of time
I pulled my jacket around my shoulders tighter and continued jogging down the wet sand of the beach. I looked up ahead and smiled when I saw my favourite part of the beach, the rock pools. I always love looking at the rock pools at the end of my run; you'll never know what you'll find in there. Sometimes I have to throw a few fish or two out to the ocean again as they've gotten themselves stuck but nothing too major... it'd be the worse if a dolphin got stuck up there. I slowed down into a walk as I reached the first giant rock that led up to the rock pools.
I grabbed on and climbed up slowly making sure I wouldn't fall, there was a major storm last night and everything was wet and super slippery
I walked along the slippery rock pools looking into each of the small pools, nothing but seaweed and a few shells. I picked one up and placed it in my pocket. My best friend Shelby really likes shells so I always make sure I grab one for her; as I jumped down from the rock pools something caught my eye, a flash of blue. Curiosity got the best of me and I just had to find out what it was. Once I turned the corner I froze.
Lying on the sand in a small cave in the rocks was a guy, but not just any type of guy. This guy was half fish; he had a long blue and green tail where his legs should have been.
I slowly walked closer being careful and I saw he was unconscious, he had a bit of a net wrapped around his scratched and bleeding torso and he had blood running down his face, this thing was hurt and it needed medical attention
"Oh shit... uh... come on Bryant pull yourself together" I thought out loud putting my hands on my head. I looked around seeing no one else on the beach
"It's not a far walk... shouldn't take too long" I thought to myself and looked back at the half fish, half man
"Here goes nothing" I thought to myself. I got in close enough so I could pick up the fish thing and I began quickly carrying it back to my house. My parents were still sleeping and I have my own house off to the side so this shouldn't be too hard. I pushed the door opened and placed the fish dude on the couch as I ran into the bathroom and filled up the bath as much as I could. I placed the fish guy into the bath.
"Um... it's a fish so... salt, salt it needs salt" I thought out loud and I sprinted out of my house and quietly into the kitchen of mum and dad's. Thankfully mum left the salt out on the bench. I hope she doesn't mind me using it all. I ran back into my house and poured all of the salt into the water
"Now I just have to wait I guess" I thought to myself flopping onto my bed... I have a merman in my bath. This is going to be interesting
