March 3, 1995 - 6:30 AM
As I got up and was ready to drive to the sheds, I walked by and saw my sons Fred and Jacob watching TV while my wife Linda was making breakfast. The channel switched to a news report about the virus that had been keeping me up every day for the past month.
It had appeared around 2 months ago and it was called Blu-Face95. It first appeared on January 15, 1995 as a giant cloud of fog looked over a small city in Russia. Only 1/20 of the citizens were able to escape the city without being exposed. Luckily, nobody in the city died during that day, but the 95% of people in the city that got exposed to the fog started getting symptoms of the virus.
If the subject receives extra freezing temperatures, nonstop coughing, shaking, and dizziness all within 24 hours of exposure then within a few hours the subject's skin will turn blue and the eyes will turn dead white.
The good news is that if this happens the subject won't die, they will only go into a coma like state where they are paralyzed and cannot move but they can still hear everything that goes on around them.
Sadly no known cure has been discovered by scientists yet, but what they do know is that it should take approximately 8-11 months to reach the rest of the planet so we had time to develop a cure or at least a vaccine. While nobody dared to enter the mist after the first encounter, America was kind enough to send goods and supplies to Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Sodor was one of the busiest spots where the supplies came in which means that engines from other regions of British Railways came to help us out, the good news is that we could work alongside engines like Diesel 10 without getting into much trouble.
I've also been writing in this journal ever since my wife got it, yet it has been a bit of a paper weight. But since things are getting quite interesting , I thought I could write in the journal to keep track of events going on.
It was time I get to Ffarquar, I'm sure we can't miss the announcement by The Fat Controller this morning. If you didn't know I am Percy's driver, who works with his close friends, Thomas and Toby, on the Farquhar branch line. As I got in my car, Linda came up to me and I said goodbye to her as I drove away to Tidmouth Station.
March 3, 1995 - 6:49 AM
I finally got to Tidmouth station with my coworker Nolan who is Percy's fireman. The other engines woke up grudgingly. I told Thomas that it was time to get up, Thomas grumbled saying he was enjoying sleeping as he was tired of constantly being overworked day after day. Owen told me that he needs a few minutes while he started Thomas up.Percy was at least not as worse as Thomas as he got out of the shed and I drove him away to Tidmouth Sheds who was followed by Toby after getting Henrietta.
March 3, 1995 - 7:00 AM
We made our way over to Tidmouth Sheds where The Fat Controller was waiting to give his announcement. All the engines were in our expanded Tidmouth Sheds including Diesel 10, Duck and Oliver from the little western, The Narrow Gauge Engines on flatbeds, and Stanley and Rosie from Vicarstown.Since Henry was still at the works but thankfully would be returning later today, some of the tank engines were to be doubleheaders for some goods trains.
Percy and I were assigned to team with Duck to take a train to Vicarstown so we could meet up with another tank engine to help take the supplies in and then help us out for the next week.
We arrived at Knapford where tankfully Murdoch had gotten both trains for us and himself already ready. Diesel was also sleeping here at the time and he was supposed to be at the back to help us up Gordon's Hill. Duck and Diesel coupled up with us and it was already off to a bad start as we were having a really hard time trying to get the train moving since one van felt like it weighed about half a dozen tons.
