Heavy rain

I finally reached my home. I hurt my fingers grasping the keys in my pocket. Actually, it was so cold and dark that I couldn't feel anything but pain and fear, so I didn't know if I got hit or cut by my clumsiness.
As I went inside, warmth and comfort permeated my body and soul. I dashed for the bathtub, carelessly dropping my clothes on the way through the corridor.
When the tub was full, I plunged in the smoking hot water. That moment, my phone started ringing.
"Not now" I mumbled.
I waited for it to stop, then I closed my eyes in relaxation. I was about to fall asleep, when it started ringing once again.
"It must be Alec. I'll text him later"
When everything went silent, I could hear loud noises from outside. On the left, on the right, all around.
I got up and looked outside the window. Everything was dark, apart from thousands of bright drops falling from the sky. It was like watching falling stars, just not in the sky but in my town. I couldn't see where they were landing, but each time a light disappeared I would hear something similar to an explosion.
Suddenly, people started screaming and I was filled with horror. I was opening the bathroom door, when a hole in my roof appeared. Immediately, another one on the floor, where my phone would lie and ring. Instead, there was a four-legged robot. It was taller than me, larger than me, and when it ran in my direction, I learnt it was faster than me.
