Chapter 1

Love is a spirit that flows through us all. It’s an irresistible urge to connect. No matter where you are and no matter where you go love will always find you. You will always feel its power. Not with your body or mind but with your heart. It runs free and wild catching people at their most vulnerable moments. No one person can find such beauty but within one’s soul. Usually love is always the closest thing to you. Just arms length away. But once you have been graced with such beauty and inspiration never let free. There will always be courses and obstacles pushing to take love from you and call it as its own. But love only last with the person it was fallen with. Take great pride and honor in the gift of love and life with all your heart. Love in love is all that’s worth.

It was 8:30 in the morning when Carmen was sound asleep in his bed. The maid came up to his room to wake him. She laid out clothing and set some water at his bed side. She began walking out when she turned back to look at Carmen.

“Master you must get up. The queen will be expecting you down stairs for breakfast.” Carmen wave his hand and the maid disappeared around the door corner. Carmen sat up slowly pushing away his blankets. He looked out the window. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping. It seemed like it was going to be the perfect day but off in the distance dark clouds were forming and didn’t look promising.

Carmen brought himself to his feet and walked over to where the maid put his clothing. He sluggishly slipped off his boxers and replaced them with his new ones. Then he pull a white shirt over his head. wobbling back and forth he slipped on his pants and belt. Looking in the mirror her fixed his hair. Carmen wasn’t feeling very energetic this morning but he had to be awake for his aunts arrival.

He walked over to his study desk. He slowly opened a small drawer at the top right corner. Carefully pulling out a dagger and clipping it to his belt. He then proceeded to the door. On door was the necklace with the claw he had made when trying to get home with Julia. He slipped it around his neck letting out a big sigh. Even though the memory was so horrible he felt the need to keep the claw. Carmen walked out the door and down the long hall way. He wasn’t in the mood for seeing his aunt today. She was always putting him down and trying to get his father to hand the kingdom over to his cousin. But Carmen knew his father would never do that. At the end of the hall Carmen turned and began unwillingly down the long stair case. As he walked down the long stair well he brushed his hand over each candle and studied the old frame work on the walls. He was trying to take his time so he didn’t have to see the queen as long as he needed to. When he got to the bottom of the stairs and took a long pause, starring at the large doors to the dinning area. As he approached the dinning area he herd his father arguing with the queen.

“He is not fit to take over the kingdom he is only a child.” The queen yelled, with rage in her voice.

“He is too fit to take over my kingdom. So I make the decisions.” His father yelled back with the same angered voice. Before anyone could start arguing again Carmen pushed open the doors with a hard thud against the wall. Everything was quiet as Carmen walked to his seat at the large table in the middle of the large room. He slowly pulled out his chair and sat down. He leaned over and whispered into Julia’s ear.

“Have they been fighting like this all morning?” Carmen was trying to be quietly so the queen and king wouldn’t hear him.

“Yes and it’s so annoying too.” Julia said smiling big like everything was fine.
